Verlyn O. Gruetzmacher, 63, Montpelier, died unexpectedly on March 21, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1947 in Kewaunee to the late Othmer and Anita (Schultz) Gruetzmacher. He attended Kewaunee High School graduating in the class of 1966. He has a degree from NWTC in Industrial Mechanics. On July 13, 1968 he married Christine Ledvina at St. Joseph Church in Pilsen. Verlyn enjoyed riding his golf cart and tractor, watching the Brewers, NASCAR, deer hunting, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Christine and their children; Dawn (Barry) Novak, Luxemburg; Melissa (Brian) Freeman, Marinette and their children, Alex, Connor, Ethan, McKenna; Tammy Malach, Kewaunee and her children, Kyle, Kristen; Cynthia (Jameson) Shipley, Neenah, and their children, Julia, Jevyn; Sherri (Paul) Kratz, Luxemburg and their children, Cassie, Allie, Derek; one brother-in-law Roger Steffel and one sister-in-law Cecelia Gruetzmacher, four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Betty) Ledvina, Bernard (Caroline) Ledvina, Kenneth (Theresa) Ledvina, Basil (Sandra) Ledvina, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roland Gruetzmacher, and two sisters, Noreen Gruetzmacher and Carla Steffel, father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph W. and Julia M. Ledvina. Visitation will continue between 10:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Thursday March 24, 2011 at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph – St. John Site, Pilsen. Funeral 11:30 a.m. at the Church with the Rev. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pilsen.
