Angela H. “Angie” DeChamps, 81, Luxemburg, passed away Wednesday evening, April 20, 2011 following a courageous 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born February 14, 1930, in Tonet, to the late Joseph and Hazel (Vande Velde) Boucher. She was so proud to have been born on Valentine’s day. On May 20, 1950, Angela married Edwin DeChamps at St. Odile’s Church in Thiry Daems. Over the last 25 years, she worked at Northbrook County Club. Angie truly enjoyed her job and the people she met through the years. Taking care of people was her specialty. Angie was always a gracious host and loved having family gatherings at her home and at the cottage with lots of good food and booyah. She was happiest when everyone was eating. Angie also always had luck on her side at the casinos. She loved the “overnighters” with the group from the Babler bus casino trips. Some of Angie’s best Saturdays were spent shopping at her favorite department store for the newest fashions. Angie was also known for leading many prayer services and novenas helping people through prayer at Our Lady of Good Help Chapel for over 25 years. She was also an active member of the Catholic Foresters for many years. Angie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edwin; four children, Dennis (Sherry) DeChamps, Appleton; Randy (Bonnie) DeChamps, New Franken; Shelley Stencil, Denmark; Lynn (Alonzo Villarreal) DeChamps, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Eric (Christy) DeChamps, Matt (Robin) DeChamps, Katie (Chad) Dalebroux, Emily DeChamps, Elliot Stencil, and Kaila Stencil; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice (Milton) Massey; brother, Al (Joyce) Boucher; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Rosemary Boucher, Rose Boucher, Arlene (Darrell) Jadin, Merle (Sylvia) DeChamps, and Larry DeChamps; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Angie was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, David Stencil; brothers Gaylord Boucher and Linus Boucher. Family and friends may call Monday, April 25, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McMahon Funeral Home, 530 Main St., Luxemburg. Parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Pat Ratajczak, Pastoral Associate. Visitation will continue between 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, 5996 County Rd K in Champion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at church with Fr. Richard Mauthe officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank Dr Groteluschen, Unity Hospice, and friends and family for all their prayers, well wishes, phone calls, and visits during the last few months.
