Urban G. Dorner

Mr. Urban George Dorner, 95, Luxemburg, died Wednesday evening June 8, 2011 at Bornemann Nursing Home, Green Bay. He was born December 16, 1915 in Luxemburg to the Joseph and Katherine (Kelnhofer) Dorner. On November 15, 1939 Urban married Marie Frances Heim at St. Kilian Church, New Franken. They were married one week less than 70 years, when she preceded him in death November 7, 2009. His enjoyments included hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Urban had a great sense of humor and could keep everyone entertained with his ability to tell comical stories. Survivors include his three children, Wayne and Cindy Dorner, IL. Richard L. Dorner, Luxemburg, Darlene and George Stodola, Green Bay, three grandchildren, Kelly Jo (Jim) Shippy, Michael (Connie) Dorner, Karie (Greg) Feitl, six great-grandchildren, Halle Dorner, Emily, Thomas, Abby, Bella and Lydia Feitl, one brother and three sisters in law, Norbert Dorner, Anna Mae Dorner, both of Luxemburg, Dorothy Ferry, Green Bay, Dorothy Heim, Luxemburg, many nieces and nephews. Urban was preceded in death by, three brothers and three sisters in law, Joseph and Olive Dorner, Clem and Gerry Dorner, Roman Dorner, Marian Dorner, four sisters and four brothers in law, Martha and Alois Arendt, Verna and Anton Zellner, Margaret and Milton Thibaudeau, Anna and Leo Seidl, Marie’s two brothers and sisters in law, Elmer (Mary Ann) Heim, Lawrence (Laverne) Heim, Marie’s two sisters and three brothers in law, Irma (Norbert) Tilkens, Leone (Robert) Peot, Bernard Ferry. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 3:00 to 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2011. Closing parish prayer service 5:00 pm. Sunday. Visitation will continue between 9:15 and 10:15 am Monday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 10:30 am Monday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating.
