Michael "Mike" Henry Jacisin

October 11, 1937 — June 28, 2011

Michael H. “Mike” Jacisin Michael “Mike” Henry Jacisin, 73, longtime resident of Dyckesville, died Tuesday morning, June 28, 2011, surrounded by his family, at a local hospital. Born on October 11, 1937, to the late Michael Bartholomew and Philomen Eva (Thebert) Jacisin and raised in Ironwood, Michigan, Mike later moved to Southern California and attended Long Beach State University. On February 13, 1961, he married Catherine Ann Fonder in Long Beach, California. He worked as Project Manager and Division Manager for Peterson Builders of Sturgeon Bay for over 20 years, and he was Scoutmaster of Dyckesville Boy Scout Troop 1144 from 1976 to 1985. Survivors include his wife, Catherine, the love of his life and his partner through many travels far and wide; three children and their spouses, Jennifer and Shawn Wardlow of Long Beach, CA., Christopher Jacisin and Ann Barlament of De Pere, WI, and Eric Jacisin of Buffalo, NY; four grandchildren, Jonathan Wardlow, Taylor Wardlow, Hayley Barlament, and Reilly Jacisin; his brother, Jack (Penny) Jacisin, sisters, Marilyn (Lloyd) Hill, and Katherine O’Brien; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Evelyn (Bob) Micolichek, Sharon (Lee) Marks, and Kathleen Fonder. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorelei Elsemore, brother, Tom O’Brien, sister-in-law, Dorothy Dalke and brothers-in-law, Ken Dalke and Lambert Fonder. Mike was a loving and devoted husband and father who brightened the days of all who knew him. Always quick with a story of his latest travels or of a long-ago adventure, he was never short on observations, opinions, and facts that both illumined and entertained. He was a kind, humble man who loved conversation and always enjoyed seeing happiness and fulfillment in those around him. He treasured his wife, his children and his grandchildren, and he never failed to put his family’s needs ahead of his own. He was an avid reader who gathered many autographs from writers all over the world and a dedicated collector of stamps, coins, and rocks both familiar and exceptional. He donated the majority of his impressive rock collection, gathered over decades of travel to more than 32 states, to the Neville Public Museum in 2010. The special thanks of Catherine, Jennifer, Chris and Eric go to the nursing and hospice staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. Also, thank you to each of our families and to the wonderful friends and neighbors who have done so much to show us what it means to be cared for in this world. Friends may call at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, 530 Main Street, Luxemburg, WI from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1st.
