Theophile J. “Sonny” Derenne 84, Luxemburg resident died Friday morning August 26, 2011 at Oak Creek Assisted Living. He was born November 29, 1926 in Duvall to the late Frank and Octavia (Bertrand) Derenne. Sonny married the former Madeline Deprey on June 26, 1945 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Thiry Daems all his life. Sonny was also employed as an implement mechanic at various firms in Kewaunee County. He loved to dance and never turned down the chance to play a game of cards or checkers. Sonny was an active member of St. Odiles Parish and currently a member of St. Louis Parish in Dyckesville. He is survived by his wife Madeline and their three children, Donald (Carol) Derenne, David Derenne, and Kathy Derenne, his son-in-law Gary (Judy) Vandenhouten. Sonny’s grandchildren who he was so proud of, Craig (Laura) Derenne, Kristel (Brennen) Joski, Darin Derenne and Jane, Tom Weber, Jennifer Weber and Thomaz, Michelle, Gregory, and Amber Van Remortel. Eight great-grandchildren, Brenna and Salara Derenne, Koltin, Trentin, and Arianna Joski, Jacob and Vincent Derenne, Madeline Newburry. Three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Derenne, Raquel Derenne, and Valerie (Hillarion) DuBois. Four brothers-in-law, Roy Johnson, John (Donna) Deprey, Jim (Etta) Deprey, and Tom (Rose) Seidl, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter Linda Vandenhouten, two sisters, Adele (Edmund) Marchant and Marie (Richard) Deprey, six brothers, Eli (Annie), Joe (Mayme), John (Lillian), and Frank (Albina), Edward (Leona), and Walter, sister-in-law Emerine Johnson, one brother-in-law Melvin Deprey. Friends may call at McMahon Funeral Home 530 Main Street, Luxemburg, from 4-8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Monday Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Reverend John Van Deuren officiating. Entombment to follow at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Sonny’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Oak Creek Assisted Living especially Marie, Arletta, Melissa, Melanie, Casey, Shelly, and Kelly. Their care and concern for Sonny and his family will never be forgotten.
