Richard V. Conard Richard V. Conard, 90 formerly of New Franken died Sunday morning October 16, 2011 at Fred and Mamie’s Home in Luxemburg. He was born in Champion on November 01, 1920 to the late John and Odile (Arvey) Conard. On October 18, 1974 Richard married Gladys C. Delcore-Conard at St. Joseph Church in Champion. She preceded him in death November 01, 2006. He farmed in the Town of Scott area retiring in 1982. As devoted Catholics, Richard and Gladys attended daily mass at St. Joseph Church in Champion, and prayed the rosary each Sunday at Our Lady of Good Help Chapel. Although Richard was retired, he loved to help out the “boys” with seasonal field work. Quitting time was always at 4:00 pm, so he could go out to dinner and play cuyoo with their friends. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spoiling them filling their pockets with candy and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his three step-children, Ron and Sue Conard, Gary and Helen Conard, all of New Franken, Pat Dorner and special friend Dale Verhagen, Althelstane, seven grandchildren, Paul (Barb) Conard, Brian (Barb) Conard, Mike (Becky) Conard, Dave (special friend Stacy) Conard, Cindy (Mike) Conard, Tammy (Ken Jr.) Lemberger, Randy (Jenna) Dorner, eleven great-grandchildren, Cody, Kaitlyn, Chelsea, Anna, Will, Emily and Betsy Conard, K.J. and Kendra Lemberger, Cameron and Coletyn Dorner, three step-great-grandchildren, Kyle (Cassie), Andy and Adam Conard, one sister in law, Lavern Conard, Luxemburg, many special nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Harvey Conard, one sister Mabel (Henry) Strebel, four brothers in law and four sisters in law, Fred and Mamie Delcore, Mary and Fred Dalebroux, Laura and Joe Prevost, Lillian and Eddie Everard. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday October 19, 2011. Closing rosary service 8:00 pm, Wednesday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:15 am Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Champion. Funeral 10:30 am Thursday at the Church with Rev. Rowland DePeaux officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. We wish to extend a note of appreciation to Unity Hospice, Rev. Wm O’Brien, Pat Ratajczak, the staff of Fred and Mamie’s Home especially Sharon and Wayne DePeau for offering Richard their compassion and strength, as well as Bev and Harold Paye and Beatrice DePeau who spent countless hours playing cards and visiting with Richard.
