Rita L. Massart,89, Luxemburg, died peacefully on Friday evening March 23, 2012 at Algoma Long Term Care with her daughter by her side. She was born February 14, 1923 in the Town of Brussels to the late Arthur and Mary (Jadin) Marchant. On January 11, 1944 she married Ben Massart in Brussels. He preceded her in death September 9, 1994. They operated the family farm in Rosiere until their retirement when they moved to Luxemburg. Rita was a member of the Christian Mother Society of St. Mary Church. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Al) Tlachac, Luxemburg; two grandsons, Jason (Julie) Tlachac and their children, Hunter and Bailey, Allouez; Jamie Tlachac, Luxemburg; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Massart and Lucille Enz and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben; one brother, Raymond Marchant; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion (Richard) Alsteen and Della (Alvin) Jeanquart. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday (today) March 25, 2012.Closing parish prayer service 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continues between 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 a.m. at the Church with the Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. The family would like to thank everyone at Algoma Long Term Care for all of their care and compassion.
