Leonard E. "Winky" Treml

Leonard E. “Winky” Treml Leonard E. “Winky” Treml, 84 of Luxemburg, passed away after dealing with cancer on Friday afternoon, May 4, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Sue in Sugarbush, where he resided these past four years. He was born in Luxemburg on August 06, 1927 to the late Englebert and Margaret (Kelnhofer) Treml. On August 28, 1948 he married Beatrice Ratajczak at St. Hedwig Church in West Kewaunee. Together they farmed in Scarboro until moving to Luxemburg in 1957. Wink worked at Kewaunee Engineering as a lead man for over 43 years, retiring in 1991. He loved working in his garden, playing cards and traveling with his wife until she passed away on January 20, 1996. Wink enjoyed his life and loved family gatherings throughout the years. He golfed on a weekly league until last year and enjoyed getting on the greens at Royal Scot with his daughter, Shirley and grandchildren Nick and Amy. He liked having lunch at Village Kitchen in Casco, having fish at Davister’s Bar in Sugarbush each week. He will miss his great-grandson, Riki who has been by his side in many ways. Survivors include five children, Sharon (Kurt) Tielens, Sugarbush; Sandy (Al) Jean quart, New Franken; Thomas (Jill) Treml, Green Bay; Sue (Donald) Theys, Sugarbush; Shirley (Joe) Taycher, New Franken; 14 grandchildren, Kelly (Barry) Bosman, Kim (Brad) Bosman, Michael (Kim) Soquet, Michelle Soquet, Amy Soquet, Jason (Christina) Soquet, Chad (Tabby) Treml, Eric Treml, Brad Theys & friend Kathy, Stacie (Jason) Duescher, Missy Theys & friend Todd, Jessie (Cameron) Jorgenson, Nick (Becky) Collins, Jackie (Brian) Stollfus; 19 great-grandchildren, Kailey & Bryce Bosman, Kayla & Bailey Bosman, Lucas, Brett & Megan Soquet, Emma, Elise & Colton Imsland, Summer & Ethan Soquet, Drake & Ashor Treml, Brooke Treml, Brayden Duescher, Riki Theys, Garrett Jorgenson, Cecelia Collins; three sisters, Dorothy Stodola, Martha Karnopp all of Luxemburg; Margaret “Peggy” Theys, Kewaunee; three brothers, Edmund Treml, Casco; Anton “Tony” (June) Treml, Luxemburg; Robert (June) Treml, Kewaunee; three brothers in law & four sisters in law, James “Jim” (Lois) Ratajczak, Kewaunee; Thomas “Tom” (Betty) Ratajczak, Green Bay; Daniel Wessely, CA; Margie Hockers, DePere; Judy Ratajczak, Kewaunee; many nieces, nephews, golfing buddies and friends. Wink was preceded in death by his wife, Bea; one infant son, Dale Joseph; two sons in law, Wencil Soquet, Leo Sommrude; two brothers, George (Mayme) Treml, Leo (Regina) Treml; two sisters, Anna (Frank) Stodola, Gertrude (Daniel) Arendt; five brothers in law, Joseph Stodola, Harold Karnopp, Louis Theys, Elmer Hockers, Donald Ratajczak; two sisters in law, Jeanie Treml, Ruth Wessely. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 9:15 to 10:45 am, Monday May 7, 2012. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Leonard’s family would like the thank all those who have helped them during this time of need, The Aurora Visiting Nurse Association especially Sheila & Stacy, Father William O’Brien, family and friends.
