Madonna “Donna” Bins Madonna R. Bins, 85, Luxemburg died early Thursday morning May 10, 2012. She was born June 01, 1926 in Luxemburg to the late Tony and Mabel (Ravet) Flegel. On July 12, 1947 Donna married Marvin J. Bins at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. He preceded her in death August 30, 1995. She was a graduate of Luxemburg High School and was proud to have worked at the Bank of Luxemburg prior to the birth of her children. History was important to her, recalling her parents who owned the Red Owl Store. Donna was a tremendous support to her husband Marvin; together they raised seven children, traveled to Rural Mail Carrier conventions and the local meetings. Many day trips were enjoyed with the Hruska’s. Their annual event was the Hodag in Rhinelander. They always had many funny stories to share from these adventures. She was involved in her Canasta card club for over 50 years. Donna was a member of St. Mary Church, the Christian Mother Society of Luxemburg and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Donna was known for her love of music, especially polkas and the Luxemburg Community Band where she would love to dance, sing along and ending a song with “Yah Woo!!” She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s activities and all LC sporting events, especially the girl’s basketball games where she was known to pray a rosary or two during the event. Donna loved watching Brewer and Packer games, the Fair Parade each year in front of the Post Office on Main Street, going for car rides especially thru the Village, and a trip to Joe Rouer’s for a hamburger and piece of poppy seed torte. And, don’t forget the beer; she was never known to turn one down. Donna loved visits from little children and their animals, her kitties and all the grand-pets over the years. We know her grand-dog Gunther is just waiting to greet her in Heaven. The uncountable Rice Crispy bars, Congo Squares and Christmas cookies will be missed by many as well as the apple cakes she made for the boys going up north hunting. Many Saturday mornings she could be found in the kitchen baking and tending to yet another of her hobbies, looking out of her front kitchen window to see what was going on in the park! Donna will be missed by her two daughters, Kathy (Lee) Anderson, DePere, Susie (Larry) Ingebretsen, Luxemburg, five sons, Jim (Patsy) Bins, Mike Bins, Pat (fiancée Nancy Sladky) Bins, all of Green Bay, Bob (Mary) Bins, New Franken, John (Chris) Bins, Luxemburg, seven grandchildren, Stacy (Fiancé’ Steven) Bins, Casey Bins, Tracy Bins, Corey Bins, Sgt.Adam (Stacey) Sherwood who is currently serving our country in Afghanistan, Megan (Bob Madel) Bins, Vanessa (friend Heather) Bins. She was known as Grandma Donna to her five great-grandchildren, Jaden, Riley and Selena Madel, Carson and Cadence Sherwood. Her family also includes step-grandchildren, Don (Rachel Pildis) Anderson, Susan (David Johnson) Anderson, step-great-grandchildren, Lucy and Eli Johnson, Cole Sladky, one brother, Bob (Gertie) Flegel, Green Bay, brothers in law and sisters in law, Richard “Red” (friend Dora) Tatosky, Don (Marge) Bins, all of Green Bay, Frank (Grace) Bins, IL. and Gina Bins, Green Bay, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Donna was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jennifer Kathleen Bins, one infant grand daughter Jennifer Marie Bins, one daughter in law, Laurie Bins, one sister, Mary Ann Tatosky, one brother in law, Ervin Bins, her father in law and her mother in law, Edward and Elizabeth (VandenAvond) Bins, one nephew, Timmy Tatosky, many other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, Sunday (Mother’s Day) May 13, 2012, 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Parish prayer service 7:00 pm on Sunday. Visitation will continue between 9:30 to 10:45 am Monday May 14, 2012 at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Madonna’s name. Our Mom will be remembered as a very pleasant lady, who had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face. We will all miss her but are comforted by the thought of her and Dad being together again. The Bin’s Family would like to thank Sharon and Wayne DePeau along with their entire staff at Fred and Mamie’s Home for everything they have done for our Mom and our family, as well as Unity Hospice especially Jenny, Dawn and Wendy.
