Anthony J. Barbiaux Anthony J. "Toy" Barbiaux, 88, Luxemburg passed away Wednesday evening August 8, 2012 at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. He was born January 12, 1924 in Luxemburg to the late Elmer and Dorothy (Kohlbeck) Barbiaux. Anthony attended Luxemburg High School, played basketball, football and baseball. He served his country in the United States Arm in WWII, saw action in Normandy and later stationed in Switzerland. After the war he studied Architectural Engineering in Chicago. He designed plans for many landmarks in the Green Bay Area. Later in life he enjoyed golfing, bowling and played third base in softball and baseball. He was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg and the Knights of Columbus. Anthony was the "family handyman". He also designed games which were used to raise money for MD and other fund raisers. He was a believer of renew, reuse and recycle before it was popular. Survivors included one brother, Jonas (Lucille) Barbiaux, Luxemburg, three sisters, Dorothy Heim, Marilyn (Tom) Melchior, all of Luxemburg, Bonnie (Jerry) Seiler, Algoma, one sister in law, Rita Barbiaux, Green Bay, many nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Donald, Maurice ”Mosie" Barbiaux, one brother in law, Lawrence Heim, one niece, Jenny Heim. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4 to 7 pm Friday (Today), August 10, 2012. American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 Memorial Service 6:30 pm. Closing parish prayer service 7 pm. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 9:45 am Saturday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 10:00 am at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery with full Military Rites at Graveside with the American Legion Post 262. The family would like to express a sincere "Thank you" to the staff of the Algoma Long Term Care Unit for the wonderful care given to Anthony.
