Leonard H. Gruetzmacher Leonard H. Gruetzmacher, 91, Kewaunee formerly of Stangelville died peacefully late Friday evening August 24, 2012 at Linden Manor in Kewaunee. He was born April 21, 1921 to the late Herman and Clara (Kratz) Gruetzmacher. Leonard served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg. On June 7, 1947 Leonard married Angeline G. Duescher at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Together they farmed in the Stangelville area until their retirement. Following 60 years of marriage, she preceded him in death July 27, 2007. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, drove school bus in the Kewaunee area in addition to farming. Leonard's enjoyments included hunting, fishing, keeping busy in the farm shop and spending time with family especially his great granddaughter. Survivors include his twin daughters, June (Steven) Lischka, Kewaunee; Judy (James) Popp, Green Bay; one son, Brian Gruetzmacher, Stangelville; two grandchildren, April (special friend Scott Seibold) Lischka, Jamie (Samantha) Popp, one great granddaughter, Amelia Popp, one brother-in-law, Ernest Treichel, DePere; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Gruetzmacher, Elda Duescher, both of Luxemburg; nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Rahlen (Frieda) Gruetzmacher, Bernice Gruetzmacher-Engebose, Hilbert Gruetzmacher, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Gladys (Lester) Dahlke, Helen Treichel, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Rueben (Ruth) Duescher, Orville Duescher, seven nephews. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4 to 7 pm, Monday August 27, 2012. The American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 memorial service at 6 pm. Closing parish prayer service 7 pm Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday between 9:45 and 10:45 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Daniel Grams officiating. Burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Montpelier will full military honors at the graveside. The Gruetzmacher family wishes to extend a special Thank you to Pastor Daniel Grams for your spiritual comfort, Dr. Zenner, the Staff of Linden Manor in Kewaunee especially Mary Kay and Unity Hospice for the wonderful care given to Leonard.
