She was born February 04, 1924 in Lincoln to the late Ancel and Lucy (Gigot) Challe. Catherine attended a rural school in Lincoln thru the eighth grade and then helped her family on the farm until she met and married Frank J. DeBroux Sr. on June 9, 1945 and moved to Champion. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1997. She then moved to Dyckesville and lived with her sister LaVerne's Family, Linda and Brian Kipp. Catherine enjoyed farming and gardening all of her life. She was always a very kind, happy and loving wife, mother, grandmother and godmother. She looked forward to her weekly hamburger at Joe Rouer's with her husband and close friends and her plate of broasted chicken at Davister's. Catherine enjoyed her weekly hair appointment with Carol Stoxen. Catherine lived for six years with her goddaughter Linda. They truly enjoyed each other and Catherine was always eager to help bake cookies and loved to watch the Packers. For the last five years she made her home in Sturgeon Bay at the Golden Living Center, and enjoyed all the wonderful people who took such good care of her and always had a joke to tell while hosting a big smile. Catherine loved to speak her Belgian language and even though folks may not understand the words expressed, she truly enjoyed sharing it with them. Catherine is survived by her goddaughter, Linda (Brian) Kipp, Luxemburg, and their children, Jamie (Kevin) Davister, Emilie and Lauren, Jason (Jessica) Kipp and Holden. She is further survived by a daughter-in-law, Sandy DeBroux, Rosiere, two grandchildren, Adam (Barbraann) DeBroux, Erin (Rick) Estel, one great-grandson, Jonathan.
