Gerhardt W. Kratz Gerhardt W. Kratz, 92, Luxemburg died peacefully Friday morning, February 01, 2013, in the arms of his family at his daughters home. He was born in Luxemburg, October 22, 1920 to the late William H. and Wilhelmine "Minnie" A. (Duescher) Kratz. On July 24, 1943 Gerhardt married Carrie Mae Wessely in Kewaunee. She preceded him in death September 09, 2007. He dedicated his life to his family being a wise farmer and businessman. He was a firm believer in Christian Education. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving on the building committee as the treasurer and on the school board, also serving as an elder, chairman and on the cemetery committee. Gerhardt was on the board of directors for Ellisville Dairy and the Kewaunee Farm Bureau Board of Directors. His survivors include three children, Robert and Marlene Kratz, Jean and Lloyd Loberger, Nola and Kenneth Duescher all of Luxemburg, eight grandchildren, Paul (Sherri) Kratz, Dale Kratz, Tina (Travis) Kilgore, Greg (Shawn) Loberger, Heidi (Kevin) Vandenbush, Jodi ( Matt) Kinnard, Chris Duescher and Angela Duescher, sixteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gerhardt was preceded in death by one sister and one brother in law, LaVerne and Gilbert Schley, his father in law and mother in law, Wencil and Carrie Wessely. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 1:00 TO 5:00 PM. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2013. Opening parish prayer service 1:00 pm on Sunday. Visitation will continue between 9:30 and 10:45 am Monday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Funeral 11:00 am Monday at the church with Rev. Daniel Grams officiating. Burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Montpelier. What greater gift to give your children and grandchildren? The gift of kindness, love, forgiveness and a gentle spirit.
