Robert "Bob" Heim Robert "Bob" L. Heim, 78 of Luxemburg was called into eternal life on Friday evening, February 8, 2013. He was born in Luxemburg March 2, 1934 to the late Herbert and Verna (Thibaudeau) Heim. After graduating from Luxemburg High School in 1952, he entered the United States Army serving in Korea and Japan. Bob began his lifelong career with McMahon Furniture Store and Funeral Home, Luxemburg in 1953, becoming co-owner in 1972. Following his retirement, Bob enjoyed car rides with his friends, playing cards, casino trips and driving the elderly. He also waited for the summers at Quiet Woods South Campgrounds with the "Gang"! On April 28, 1962, Bob was united in marriage to Karen Drossart at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco. He was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, the Korean War Veterans Association, the Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce, receiving the man of the year award in 2001 and a lifelong member of St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Karen and their children, Mark (Gloria) Heim, Luxemburg; Mary Lee Barbiaux, DePere; Beth (Jim) Simonar, Luxemburg; seven grandchildren, Aaron (fiancée Kim DePeau), Brian (special friend Cortney Huth ) Heim, Tyler Barbiaux, Alison Barbiaux, Will, Owen and Charlie Simonar, his dog Katie, one sister, Eileen (Norbert) Jadin, Green Bay; two sisters in law & one brother in law, Mary Ellen (Dr. Charles) Raether, New Holstein; Bette Cibula Johnson, New Franken; nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, his father in law and mother in law, Ray and Mary Drossart, one brother in law, Oscar Johnson. Friends may call at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Opening parish prayer service 4:00 pm on Wednesday. Visitation will continue Thursday, February 14, 2013 between 9:30 and 10:45 am at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 am Thursday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery with Full Military Rites at graveside with the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg.
