Bernard A. LeRoy Bernard A. LeRoy, 88 of Luxemburg, died early Tuesday afternoon on August 6, 2013 at a Kewaunee nursing home. He was born on February 28, 1925 in the town of Red River to the late Anton J. and Octavia R (Johnson) LeRoy. On February 22, 1944 he married Loretta E. Zellner at St. Amand Church in Walhain. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2001. He was a member of St. Mary Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #5844 both in Luxemburg. Bernard farmed until 1969 then purchasing LeRoy's General Store in Walhain until its closing in 1978. During this time he also began LeRoy Sales and Service selling for DeKalb Seed and Na-Churs Fertilizer. In 1958 he received the 100 millionth chick award, receiving 300 free baby chicks!! Bernard was very creative, crafty and patriotic, building a fiberglass rocket out of recycled material for local parades. He was very proud of the eagles and other wood projects that he hand made. In addition his enjoyments included listening to Polka music, speaking Belgian, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren . (Suzanne) LeRoy, Luxemburg, 23 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tina) LeRoy, John "Jack" LeRoy, Allen (Karen) LeRoy, Barbara Gaedtke, Vicky LeRoy, Cary (Brooke) Jeanquart, Lynn (Tony) Baker, JoAnn (Charles) Geimer, Craig Jeanquart, Brian (Mary) Ciha, Jay (Nickey) Ciha, Jerry (Katie) Ciha, Chris Morovoz, Mike (Lori) LeRoy, Tricia (Jeff) Brand, Tony (Donna) LeRoy, Samantha (Tyler) Paal, Pamela (Jarrod) Parks, Kevin (Krissy) Phillips, Matthew (Natasha) Phillips, Lisa (Keith) Brandt, Becky (Art) Jakubiec, Amy LeRoy, 51 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Beatrice Marchant, Brussels, five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Germaine Zellner, Luxemburg, Richard Zellner, Tisch Mills, Leonard and Dolores Zellner, New Franken, Cy and Donna Zellner, Luxemburg, Betty VandenPlas, Green Bay, Russell and Dorothy Zellner, New Franken, many nieces, nephews and his special companion, Tyler his dog. Bernard was preceded in death by one daughter and one son-in-law, Diane and Thomas Jeanquart, one brother and one sister-in-law Harry and Norma LeRoy, one sister and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Walter Charles, Willard Marchant, six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, Elmer and Dora Zellner, Elsie and Augie Haen, Alvin and Eleanore Zellner, Albertine and Raymond Paye, Clarence Zellner, Rosella Zellner, Raymond VandenPlas. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 3:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday,August 8, 2013. Parish prayer service 7:00 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue between 9:15 and 10:15 am Friday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 10:30 am at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Bernard's name. The Family wishes to extend a thank you to the Staff and Residents of Oak Creek Assisted Living in Luxemburg, the Staff of Odd Fellow Rehabilitation Center, Green Bay, Southern Care Hospice, Staff of Kewaunee Care Center, Rev. Milton Suess, Rev. William O'Brien and Rev. Andrew Kurz. Bernard would be honored if everyone would attend "A Meal of his Memory" following his funeral mass.
