Alida B. Duescher Alida B. Duescher, 91 of Luxemburg died late Sunday morning, August 11, 2013 at Fred and Mamie's Home in Luxemburg, surrounded by her family. She was born in Boyd, Wisconsin on July 8, 1922 to the late Frederick and Amanda (Prahl) Haag. On October 2, 1943 she married Harvey A. Duescher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montpelier. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2005. Alida, a woman of strong Christian faith, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montpelier and was the last surviving charter member of the Christian Service Guild. Along with her husband she operated a dairy farm in the town of Montpelier, was employed with Farmer's Trading in Luxemburg for several years, loved gardening, especially tending to her strawberries and gladiola's. Alida was a very loving, welcoming person, always inviting someone to her home. She loved to travel, ice-cream and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Kenneth and Nola Duescher, Marilyn and Otto Mueller, Beverly Duescher, all of Luxemburg; James and Patricia Duescher, Kewaunee; Joan and William Ducat, Two Rivers; Rev. Steven and Connie Duescher, San Diego, CA.; Roger and Rose Duescher, Joshua, TX.; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. Alida was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Duescher. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4:00 to 8:00 pm, August 13, 2013 (today). Parish prayer service 7:00 pm, Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday, August 14, 2013 between 10:00 and 10:45 am. Funeral 11:00 am Wednesday at the church with Rev. Daniel Grams officiating.
