Wallace "Wally" L. Dufek, 81, New Franken, passed away on October 28, 2013 surrounded by his family at Fred and Mamies CBRF. He was born on March 20, 1932 in Brussels to the late George and Irene (Jeanquart) Dufek. Wally served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. Wallace married Eleanor Tauschek on April 14, 1956 at St. Kilians Catholic Church, New Franken. Wally farmed all his life. He loved farming, was named Outstanding Young Farmer for Brown County in 1964. He was a member of St. Kilians Catholic Church; he served on the Parish Council and was a lector. He belonged to American Legion Ralph Kline Post #262, Luxemburg. He was a member of the Lakeshore Beagle Club and Whitetails of Wisconsin Association. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Wally and his wife, Ellie enjoyed traveling. He loved going up to the cabin in Lakewood, most recently to his "Dreamland" in Door County. Wally also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in all of their activities. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor; his six children, Lynn (Terry) Jerabek, Casco; Jean (Roland) Treml; Mary Jo (Randy) Gigot; all of New Franken; Paul (Mary) Dufek, Livermore, CA; Lori (Dan) LeGrave, Casco; Larry (Patricia) Dufek, New Franken; 16 grandchildren, Jesse (Amy) Jerabek, Kelly (Amanda) Jerabek, Amanda (Jarod) Ballard, Kristine (Brian) Matysiak, Jon Treml, Matt Gigot, Mike (fiance, Nicole) Gigot, Danielle Dufek, Grant Dufek, Katlin LeGrave, April LeGrave, Valerie LeGrave, Glen Dufek, Tiffany Dufek, Kayla Dufek and Emma Dufek; 7 great grandchildren, Ethan, Issac, Addison, Adrian and Noelle Jerabek, Jalen Ballard, Chloe Matysiak; 2 brothers and 2 sisters, George Dufek, Carolyn Marin, Richard Dufek and Dorene Dufek; sisters-in-law, Anna Weisse and Agnes Van Rite. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Peter Tauschek; one brother, Francis Dufek; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Patricia Dufek, Robert Marin, Leo (Virginia) Tauschek, Roland Weisse, Sister Rose Celine Tauschek, Sister Mary Peter Tauschek and Alton Van Rite. Friends may call at the McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. American Legion Service at 6:30 p.m. and closing prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Kilian Catholic Church, New Franken from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. William O'Brien officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, New Franken.
