Mleziva, Edward J (Eddie) Edward (Eddie) J. Mleziva, 90, Luxemburg, passed away Thanksgiving Morning, November 28, 2013 at home. He was born in Pilsen May 22, 1923 to the late John and Margaret (Buresh) Mleziva. He married Eva Schlies on July 9, 1949 at St. Lawrence Church, Stangelville. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1986. Ed was a hog and dairy farmer his whole life and was very proud to be one of the few to be able to receive the farm Centennial and Sesquicentennial Award at the Wisconsin State Fair. He also loved playing cards, hunting, bowling, being with his family and friends. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court 2080 in 2009 received Catholic Order of Forester Family of Year Award, Member of Holy Name Society, Lifelong member of St. Therese Parish (St. Joseph/St. John Site), where he was an usher for 50 years. He was also on many boards and committees in the community. Ed was survived by his 5 sons and 3 daughter-in-laws, Dennis (Sue) Mleziva, Casco, Rod (Karen) Mleziva, Luxemburg, Dr. Paul Mleziva, Denmark, Dave Mleziva, Luxemburg, Mike (Lynn) Mleziva, New Franken; 3 daughters and son-in-laws, Marilyn (Mike) Destree, Green Bay, Carol (Gene) Mueller, Kewaunee, Sue (Marty) Thiry, Lincoln; 22 grandchildren: Nicole (Ryan) Barbiaux, John Mleziva (Friend Connie) , Joe Mleziva, Missy Mleziva, Brian (Erin) Destree, Todd Destree (Friend Kysia), Kate Destree (Fiancée Joe), Matt (Amanda) Mleziva, Mark Mleziva, Mitchell Mleziva, Mariah Mleziva (Friend Zach), Jason (Rebecca) Mueller, Kim Mueller (Friend Luke), Stacie Mueller (Friend Jimi), Alex (Jenny) Mleziva, Stephanie Mleziva, Carrie (Brandon) Spude, Amy (Jeff) Werth, Danielle (Brandon) Alexander, Evan Thiry, Taylor Thiry and Tristan Thiry; 5 great grandchildren: Reese, Kilee and Blake Barbiaux, Brianna and Owen Spude. Further Survived by 8 Sister-in-Laws: Joanne Mleziva, Clara Mleziva, Mary Mleziva, Clara Jurgens, Bea Porubcansky, Evelyn Schlies, Rose Schlies, Rose Prokash. Preceded in death by his Wife of 37 years Eva, 1 son Daniel (Bubba) Mleziva, 5 brothers; Infant John Jr Mleziva, Joe(Lucille) Mleziva, Loddie Mleziva, Dr. Bernard Mleziva, Harvey Mleziva; 2 sisters; Mae (Louis) Stipek, Helen (Clarence) Fidler. Family and Friends may call at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Prayer service at 7 p.m. Tuesday with Deacon Bob Pribek. Visitation continues on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at McMahon Funeral home from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Parish (St. Joseph/St. John Site) Pilsen with Reverend Dennis Drury Officiating.
