Hubert "Hub" Hermans Hubert "Hub" M. Hermans, 77 of Eaton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday evening, February 10, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. Hub was born in Luxemburg on March 17, 1936 to the late Frank and Philomine (Vaness) Hermans. Hub married Janet M. Gauthier at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on June 19, 1957. He worked at McMahon’s Furniture and learned the floor covering business. Hub and Janet started their own family business; Hub’s Floor Covering, in 1969 and is currently operating with the 2nd and 3rd generations. They passed the love of the flooring industry to many members of the family and all of them worked in the business at some point. Hub was truly a family man and family was a very important part of his life. Over the years, there were many nights spent visiting around the dining room table and many campfires sharing stories. He also enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, golfing, gardening, and his four tractors. He was a member of the Denmark FFA Alumni and the Denmark Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed volunteering for those organizations and also volunteering at Prince of Peace Church and SS Cyril & Methodius Faith Community Chapel. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet, of 56 years; five children Gary Hermans (finance Mary) of Green Bay, Mike Hermans (special friend Jen) of Florida, Christine (Jody) Laabs of Green Bay, Wendy Hermans (special friends Dawn and Kastin) of Oshkosh, and Jeff Hermans (special friend Sarah) of Madison. Grandchildren; Becky (Travis) Hawbecker, Justin (Heather) Hermans, Kyle, Eric and Ashley Laabs, Abby, and Porter Hermans. Great Grand Children; Madison and Carter Hermans, and Parker Hawbecker. Three sisters; Lucy Rueckl, Marie (Richard) Charles, Veronica (Ted) Ploof, all of Luxemburg; and one sister in law, Ethel Hermans, New Franken. Three brothers in law; Donald Gauthier, Denmark; Dale (Elaine) Gauthier, Kewaskum; and David (Peggy) Gauthier, Maribel, Bonnie Gauthier, Denmark. Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Philomine, two brothers Linus and Orville, one sister in law; Beatrice Hermans and one brother in law; Norbert Rueckl. Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, (3425 Willow Road, Green Bay, Wi) between 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014. Knights of Columbus prayer service 7:15 pm, and parish prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue between 9:00 to 10:45 am. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Green Bay. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Friday at the church with Rev. Dan Viertel officiating and Deacon Bill Burkel assisting. Entombment in the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
