Bernice D. Jacobs Bernice D. Jacobs (Mrs. Robert J. Jacobs) 89 of Luxemburg died late Saturday evening, February 15, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. She was born in Bay Settlement to the late Joseph and Mamie (Van Egeren) Moureau on February 9, 1925. On May 8, 1948 Bernice married Robert J. Jacobs at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement. She enjoyed trips to Medjugore and her love of the rosary. Her children will never forget the smell of her homemade bread and chili. Bernice always had time for a quick game of cards. She loved to yodel and sing and share the joy she carried in her heart. Bernice was a member of St. Mary Church, Luxemburg and the Christian Mother Society at St. Mary Church. Survivors include her husband of 65 years and their children, Pat (John) Wierer, Jerry (Kaye) Jacobs, Terri (Bill) Simon, all of Casco; Joe (Helen) Jacobs, Mike (Donna) Jacobs, Chris (Don) Kriescher, all of New Franken; Randy (Julie) Jacobs, Luxemburg; Jean (Dan) Peterman, Grifton, NC.; 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, one brother and two sisters in law, Richard (Joan) Moureau, Green Bay; Rita Moureau, Luxemburg; six sisters and five brothers in law, Joyce Berg, Green Bay; Doris (Clarence) Ducat, Denmark; Jean Smits, Green Bay; Rita (Pete) Jauquet, Brussels; Loretta (Dale) Vanderkin, Plymouth; Rose Mary (Constance) Vanness, Green Bay; Richard Bielinski, Sheboygan; three brothers in law and four sisters in law, Celina Vande Voort, Green Bay; Annabelle Skaletski, Mary Lou Jacobs, both of New Franken; Russell Jacobs, Ron (Darlene) Jacobs, all of Green Bay; Rev. William J. Jacobs Jr., MI., many nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary Ann, one son Robert A. Jacobs, one daughter in law, Joyce Jacobs, one brother, Walter Moureau, four sisters and six brothers in law, Sister Mary John "Grace" Moureau, Marilyn (Milton) Craanen, Judy (Darrell) Lardinois, Shirley Bielinski, Stanley Bosetski, Carl Berg, Donald Smits, Orlin Pirlot, three brothers in law and two sisters in law, Arleen (Edwin) Verheyden, Helen Jacobs, Norbert Skaletski and Richard Vande Voort. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, 1412 Main Street, Luxemburg 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday February 18, 2014. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm. Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the church between 9:00 and 10:45 am. Funeral 11:00 am Wednesday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.
