She was a 1948 graduate of Luxemburg High School taking employment in the medical field. Elona began working with Dr. Brusky in two rooms above what is now the "Boarding Haus Pub", later moving to the office next to Kubale's (now known as "Burdick's") working with Dr. Henry Majeski from 1951 to July of 1958, moving with him to the new clinic building on Main Street in Luxemburg. As per Elona's request there will not be a visitation or funeral. No flowers please! A celebration of her life will be celebrated on a later date. The McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG is assisting the Deprey Family. www.mcmahonfh.com Being without sight for the last ten years of her life, Elona started each day listening to EWTN, praying the rosary and attending Mass for shut-ins. She also sent David to the Chapel in Robinsonville to light candles, and prayed for other people in their time of need. Elona always had this advise for young people: " Do things when you can, for when you get old - it ain't gonna happen!" Following her own advise, she is probably the only other person in the Village of Luxemburg to attend the first two Super Bowls, David being the other person!! She always enjoyed a good time. Many an impromptu party was started on the front porch of her Colle Street home. People, food and drink would appear like magic and the party was ON! Please remember Elona for the good times and banish the bad. She is in Heaven now, waiting for the rest of us! "Good bye Toot's, now you know what's on the other side!!!
