Gerald J. Peters Gerald J. Peters, 83, New Franken, died peacefully early Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. He was born in New Franken on February 28, 1931 to the late Joseph J. and Anna A. (Pigeon) Peters. On October 19, 1954 he married Catherine Ann Brittnacher at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown . They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Gerald was employed with the State of Wisconsin Highway Department for 34 years, retiring in 1993. He was a lifetime member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in New Franken, where he was very active, serving Mass in his youth, served on the Parish Council, served as Trustee, and maintained the lawn at church and cemetery for decades. He was a member of the Catholic Knights Society for over 50 years. Gerald was always willing to help his children with projects when the need was there. He deer hunted for a couple of years, always enjoying the deer hunting meals with his children and grandchildren. His enjoyments included cutting lawn, his cars, dogs, watching and feeding the birds, eating ice-cream, rice pudding and lemon pie. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Ann and their nine children, Mark & Linda Peters, Raymond & Diane Peters, Ann & Steve Bins, James & Janet Peters, all Green Bay; Ronald & Mary Peters, St. Cloud, MN; Mary Jo Peters and special friend Russ Bode, Monument, CO; Kenneth & Annette Peters, Luxemburg; Jean & William Brown, Green Bay; Carol Peters and special friend Mitch Heling, DePere; seventeen grandchildren, Greg, Andrew and Carrie Peters, Laura, Katie, Adam (Holly) Peters, Jason and Amy Bins, Sarah (David Stajkowski) and Scott Peters, Blake Peters, Jonathan and Nathan Peters, Kendra, Amanda, Chris (Jessica) and Justin Brown, one great-grandchild, Bennett Peters, one brother and one sister in law, Norman & Dolores Peters, New Franken; two sisters, Marian Peters, Marina Peters, both of New Franken; six sisters in law and three brothers in law, Eunice Nackers, DePere; Charlotte Micksch, Green Bay; Marian & Bob Diny, Greenleaf; Audrey & Marv Fox, Kaukauna; Rita Brittnacher, Green Bay; Nicky (Gail) Brittnacher, Kaukauna; many nieces and nephews further survive. Gerald was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Joseph "Joey" Peters, his nine year old sister, Verona Peters, his parents, Joseph and Anna Peters, his father in law and his mother in law, Nick & Anna Brittnacher, two brothers in law, Thomas Micksch and Norbert Nackers. Friends may call at St. Kilian Catholic Church, New Franken between 9:15 am and 11:15 am on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Funeral 11:30 am Thursday at the church with Rev. Andrew Kurz, officiating.
