Leon J. Zimmer Leon "Gus" J. Zimmer, 71 of Luxemburg died Monday morning December 15, 2014 at Aurora Hospital, Green Bay. He was born in Luxemburg to the late August J. and Helen M. (Martin) Zimmer on January 2, 1943. On November 27, 1965 Leon married Diane M. Selner at St. Joseph Church, Pilsen. Leon served his country with the United States Army Reserves in 1961 through 1969 and was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 in Luxemburg. He farmed in the Luxemburg area most of his life. He also was employed with Kewaunee Engineering for 16 years during his career. His enjoyments included fishing, hunting especially elk hunting, trap shooting, riding his John Deere Gator, time spent at the hunting shack and spending family time. Survivors included his wife of 49 years, Diane and their three girls, Deanne and Robert Jadin, Denise Zimmer, Debbie Zimmer all of Luxemburg, six grandchildren, Emily Frazen, Jessica, Kelsey and Tyler Jadin, Morgan and Mariah Kroll, two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Allen and Carolyn Zimmer, Luxemburg; Mark and Val Zimmer, MI.; Betty (Howard) Zimmer-Wegner, Kewaunee; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Don and Mary Lou Selner, Luxemburg; Dennis and JoAnne Selner, Denmark; nieces and nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, August and Helen Zimmer, one brother Marlin Zimmer, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marion Selner, his step-mother-in-law, Emily Selner. American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 Memorial Service 6:30 pm, closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm. Friday. Visitation will continue at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg 9:00 to 10:15 am Saturday, December 20, 2014. Funeral 10:30 am at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating.
