John A. Christofferson John A. Christofferson, 90 of Luxemburg died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 at Helping Hearts CBRF in Luxemburg. He was born on December 16, 1924 in Racine County to the late Tony C. and Freda A. (Baker) Christofferson. On June 12, 1954 John married Betty "Pooch" Sell at St. John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg. She preceded him in death July 29, 2011. John graduated with degrees in Agriculture and Education from UW Madison in 1951. He was employed with the Luxemburg School District from 1951 to 1963 as a teacher and "on the farm" trainer for WWII and Korean War Veterans. He then purchased the Luxemburg Milling Company serving as owner and CEO from 1963 to 1976. He managed the Chevrolet Garage in Luxemburg until he became employed with Aid Association For Lutherans in 1980. He retired from AAL in 1994. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Luxemburg where he served on church council and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a member of the Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce receiving the Man of the Year Award in 2003. John was instrumental in the founding of Northbrook Country Club and served as a past president. His enjoyments included watching Badger, Brewer and Packer Games, his Poker Club and meeting for coffee at McDonalds with Jonas and Wally. He also enjoyed many adventures with his friend David. Survivors include his three children, Mary (Jay) Mork, Iola: Peter (Lynn) Christofferson, AL; Kaye Damery, IL; four grandchildren, Kaylan and Phillip Christofferson, Troy and Scott Damery; one brother, Peter Christofferson, Racine; two sisters, Ruth Edwards, RI; Elda (Don) Dillonaire, Sturtevant; one sister in law, Anita (Joe) DuChateau, FL; he is further survived by many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers in law and three sisters in law, John Edwards, Laverne Christofferson, Don and Mary Sell, DoDo and Ray Liebl. Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg 9:00 am to 10:45 am Saturday, January 17, 2015. Funeral 11:00 am on Saturday at the church with Rev. Carl Brewer officiating. Burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Luxemburg. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in John's name.
