Charles E. Champeau Charles Edward Champeau, 79, Humboldt, died Saturday March 7, 2015 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 18, 1935 in Bay Settlement, WI, the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Kujava) Champeau. On November 3, 1956 he married Audrey Braun in Whitelaw, WI. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2007. Dad exceled in the art of plastering, he owned and operated Charles Champeau and Sons Plastering. He was well known for his infectious smile. He could walk in any room not knowing anyone, but leave that room knowing everyone. He loved playing his accordion, polka dance and music, playing cards, especially 31, bocce ball, feeding his birds, telling jokes and making crafts. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his wife Audrey, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his children Jeff (Polly) Champeau; Scott Champeau, special friend Tammy; Lisa (Bob) Zingler; Mike (Robin) Champeau; Randy Champeau; Alison (Rod) Dax. His grandchildren Justin, Katie (Ryan) Champeau; Elizabeth (Dan) Monfils, Sara (Justin), Jennifer (Brandon) Champeau; Christopher (Allison) Rueckl, Emily (Travis) Nichols, Cami, Matt, Chad, Troy Zingler; Matt (Jodi) Kinnard, Ryan Champeau; Sam (Josh) Champeau; Megan (Willie), Levi Dax and 6 great grandchildren. Further survived by his brothers Norm (Toots), John (Gloria), Don, Steve (Judy), Mark (Becky), Ed (Nora) Champeau, sisters Martha Stank-Kienzle, Barb (Roy) Boucher, Cindy (Ken) Glinski, and the Braun Family. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Josephine, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John & Anna Braun, brother Pat Champeau, brothers-in-law Ron Stank and Nick Kienzle, sister-in-law Jan Champeau, niece Stacy Champeau-Loberger. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, Luxemburg, 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday March 10, 2015 with a closing rosary service at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Andrew Kurz presiding. Visitation will continue Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Sugarbush.
