Charles "Charlie" F. Bertrand, 81, Luxemburg, passed away Thursday evening August 13, 2015 at the Dorchester Golden Living Center in Sturgeon Bay. He was born August 8, 1934 in Green Bay to Charles H. and Lucille (Bouchonville) Bertrand. He married his sweetheart JoAnn Gruetzmacher on September 15, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. He worked for many cheese factories hauling milk and working in the factory. In 1962 he and his wife bought their farm in Slovan and raised three children. He enjoyed Polka dancing, talking about the old days and had a true love of farming. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, JoAnn and their children, Jolene (Lynn) Aude, Jeff (Julie) Bertrand and Germaine Bertrand all of Luxemburg; seven grandchildren, Dustin (Jenna) Aude, Tyler (Nicole) Aude, Kaylyn Aude (special friend John), Josh Bertrand (fiancé Karlee), Jacob (Kali) Bertrand, Jordan, Jessica Bertrand and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Linus Bertrand, Algoma; Geraldine (Joe) Tadisch, Kewaunee; Leonard (Ruth) Bertrand, Kewaunee; brothers in law Randy Gruetzmacher, Luxemburg; Dan Doperalski Kewaunee; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half brothers Arnold and Gordon Bertrand; two half sisters, Arletta Urban and Eva Unsinn; four sisters in law, Arlene and Robert Huber, Audrey Doperalski, Jill Gruetzmacher and Donna Bertrand, his father in law and mother in law, Elroy and Ruth Gruetzmacher. Friends may call 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm, Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday, August 19, 2015 between 9:45 to 10:45 am at St. John Lutheran Church, Rankin.
