Leonard "Len" A. Seidl

Leonard A. Seidl All good things must come to an end. Len Seidl, 95, passed away quietly early Sunday morning, December 13, 2015 at Bentley Retirement Village in Naples Florida. Len was born in Green Bay on April 13, 1920 to George and Julia (Rueckl) Seidl. Len spent his early years growing up on the family farm located on the corner of Ridge Rd. and Highland Blvd (now Lombardi Ave.). In his early teens the family moved to Luxemburg where he spent the rest of his long and illustrious life. In 1946 he married Dotty Krause who preceded him in death in 1996, after 50 years of marriage. They raised a family, all of which whom survive him, Steve (Mary Lynn), Terri and Jean. Five grandchildren, Kim, Michael, Grant, Marcus and Patrick, plus two great grandchildren, Kaela and Natalie. Len is further survived by his sister, Marion Hewitt. After WWII and discharged from the Army Air Corps, Len entered the family Implement business before embarking on a real estate career that lasted over a half of century. Len had vision and intelligence, which led to some of his major accomplishments that dot the area landscape. The assemblage of hundreds of acres on Green Bay's NE side became the campus of UWGB (for which he received the Chancellors Award decades later). The assemblage of 52 out parcels on E. Main and Mason Sts. became East Town Mall. Len was the driving force behind the development of North Brook C.C. (which he always referred to as the second best course in NEW). Len's real estate company developed thousands of residential lots and was a pioneer in early condominium development in Green Bay including Lake Largo. All work and no play was not Len's mantra. His personality and energy were legendary as he lived large until the end. Len attended twenty Super Bowl games (Thanks Judge) including I and II. He will have a great seat for SB 50! Len was a fixture at North Brook and rarely walked into any other venue where he didn't know half the crowd or did before he left. His Lennyisms and little ditties will be missed but not soon forgotten. Len was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Eleanor Phillips, Ann Meert, Leo Seidl and George Seidl. A celebration of Len's special life will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Visitation will be held at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 9:00 to 10:30 am. Funeral 11:00 am, Saturday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg, with full military rites at graveside by the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg.
