Just four days short of her 89th birthday, Dolores Metzler 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, sister and friend passed away Wednesday evening, March, 23, 2016 at Autumn Fields CBRF, Dyckesville. She was born on March 27, 1927 in Green Bay to the late Melchoir J. and Mary (Weininger) Heim. On September 10, 1947 she married Clayton E. Metzler at St. Kilian Church, New Franken. Together they ran the family farm, living her entire life in New Franken. Dolores was a sweet, caring lady who was loved by all. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Clayton, and their three children, Dan Metzler, Tom (Linda) Metzler, John (Nancy) Metzler, all of New Franken; eight grandchildren, Michael Metzler, Jeremy (Karen) Metzler, Renee (Jason) Meyers, Nicole (Matt) Wagner, Greg (Fiance' Eileen Wesener) Metzler, Amy (Jason) Bouche, Jason (Kasey) Metzler, Eric (Melanie) Metzler; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers in law and three sisters in law, Martin (Gladys) Metzler, Robert Klika, Dolores (Eugene) Sylvester, Dorothy Metzler, all of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary Ellen; two sisters and three brothers in law, Josephine (Peter Mathu Sr.) (Martin Herman) Mathu, Irene (Donald) Strebel, two brothers in law and two sisters in law, Raymond Metzler, Russell (Mary) Adrians, Annabel Klika, her father in law and mother, Martin and Isabel Metzler. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 3:30 to 7:00 pm, Monday, March 28, 2016. Closing parish rosary 7:00 pm on Monday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:15 am, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Kilian Church, New Franken. Funeral 10:30 am Tuesday at the church with Rev. Andrew Kurz officiating.
