Ludwig H. Reckelberg

Ludwig Herman William Reckelberg was born the fourth child of Julius Jr. and Helen (Krueger) Reckelberg on June 30, 1933 on the family farm in the town of Montpelier, Kewaunee County. He died early Friday morning April 9, 2016 at his home in Luxemburg at the age of 82. Ludwig was baptized on July 2, 1933 by Pastor RH Pautz. As an infant he was very sick with whooping cough. Many health problems followed including physical and mental disabilities. He began his school years at High Bluff School. In 1944 he transferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church School where he also received his Christian Education. His confirmation in the church was held on May 16, 1948 with Pastor JH Nau officiating. Survivors include five sisters and one brother, nieces and nephews. Ludwig was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Montpelier. As per Ludwig's wishes his funeral was private with Rev. Dr. Daniel Olson officiating and McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, assisting the Reckelberg Family.
