It was with God's promise in the resurrection, that John G. Rueckl entered peacefully into eternal life, on Thursday evening, May 19, 2016, with his family surrounding him at Odd Fellows Nursing Home in Green Bay. He was born in Green Bay to the late Raymond B. and Ursula Emily (Simonar) Rueckl, On May 21, 1931. On June 21, 1950 John married Margaret M. Bader at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville. He was very active in the community, as well as a well known business owner. In 1969 he began J. Rueckl Builders and Supply in Luxemburg, specializing in agricultural structures. In 1991 J. Rueckl Storage and Warehousing opened. John was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Luxemburg, serving as an usher for over 50 years and he had served as Trustee . He was very active in the Luxemburg Fire Department, Luxemburg Sportsman Club, Luxemburg Housing Corporation Board, Luxemburg Village Board and Luxemburg Planning Commission. He received the Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce Man of The Year Award in 1996. John was on the Advisory Board of the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion. In the last four years he became a Cancer survivor and a member of the Green Bay Urostomy Club. His enjoyments included deer hunting, four wheeling, snowmobiling, ice fishing, spending time with his family especially at the cabin in Amberg and the cottage in Dyckesville. Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty six years, Margaret, and their three children, Connie (Joe) Koss, Luxemburg; Steve (Judy Engelbrecht) Rueckl, New Franken, Dan (Maria Sacotte) Rueckl; five grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Koss, Jason (Tracy) Koss, Joe III (Liz) Koss, Valerie (Joe) Delebreau, Brian (Stacy) Rueckl; 16 great grandchildren, Maxwell, Marybeth, Zachary, Isaiah and Madelyn Koss, Kamryn, Colton and Hayden Koss, Jordan and Makayla Koss, Caleb, Carly and Celia Delebreau, Mason, Cami and Hallie Rueckl; one sister in law, Emily Rueckl, Green Bay; his two faithful fur balls, Kosmo and Gismo, many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by one brother Leonard Rueckl; one sister, Delores (Hillary) Schott; his parents, Raymond and Emily Rueckl; his father in law and his mother in law, Fred and Alvina (Conard) Bader; one foster sister, Anna (Elmer) Hendricks. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 2:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 22, 2016. Closing parish rosary 7:00 pm on Sunday led by Rev. Milton Suess. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Mary Church between 9:30 and 10:45 am. Funeral 11: 00 am, Monday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess, officiating.
