Mary Kay Vandrisse

Mary Kay VanDrisse Mary Kay VanDrisse passed away September 24, 2016 at home with her family after a long battle with Scleroderma Disease. She was born January 24,1941 to James and Edith O’Meara in DePere, WI. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1959 and St. Norberts College in 1963. Kay married John VanDrisse in DePere, June 1, 1963 and they were married for 53 years. Kay was an elementary school teacher in Redcliffe, Kentucky, Dykesville and Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Kay also enjoyed a very successful career in Real Estate for 20 years, retiring in 2004. For many years, she volunteered as the District Leader for LAC-Baie Counsel Girl Scouts and was honored with the Community Service Award by the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce for her many contributions. She enjoyed her home in Jupiter FL and their summer home in Door County. Kay had an artistic talent she expressed through her homemade cards and other crafts. Kay and John explored many places around the world and created a lifetime of memories. Survivors include her husband, John and their four children, Mark and Peg VanDrisse, MN; Gary and Caroline VanDrisse, Green Bay; Ann and Nick Derosa , FL; Marne and Matt Miller, NC; nine granddaughters and one grandson; one sister, Patricia Raymond, MO; one brother in law and one sister in law, Bob VanDrisse, Green Bay; Margaret VanDrisse, DePere; nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her mother and father Edith and James O’Meara; her mother in law and father in-law Vivian and Elmer VanDrisse; one brother in-law Jim Raymond. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg 4:00 to 6:30 pm on Friday, September 30, 2016. Combined closing Ralph Kline American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262 and Parish Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue between 9:00 am and 10:45 am on Saturday, October 01, 2016 at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 am on Saturday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating.
