Deacon Robert M. Wavrunek Deacon Robert M. Wavrunek, 63 of Tisch Mills died peacefully Monday night, January 9, 2017, surrounded by family. He was born September 19th, 1953 in Green Bay to the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Ebben) Wavrunek. On May 24, 1975 Bob was united in marriage with Christal L. Yanda at St. Isidore the Farmer Church, Tisch Mills. Bob was ordained a Deacon on May 18th, 2013 by Bishop David Ricken at St Francis Xavier Cathedral. Bob had a huge heart and helped all those in need. His passion was serving the Lord as a Deacon and spending time with this family; especially his eight beautiful grandchildren. Bob’s first job out of high school was at Denmark Farm Equipment, after a few years he joined the team at Camera Corner. Bob married the love of his life and best friend Christal and purchased the family farm in 1975. They milked dairy cows and raised an array of farm animals including chickens, turkeys, pigs, donkeys, goats, horses…. He enjoyed sharing his animals with Kindergarten groups from local schools for more than 25 years. Bob was a Religious Ed teacher for 15+ years and served on the Gibson Town Board. In 2007, Bob and Christal answered Gods calling to nourish one’s soul vs one’s body by joining the Deaconate cohort. Bob and Christal attended classes for 6 years together as they continued to farm. On July 1st 2013, Bob joined the Green Bay Diocese as Deacon and proudly served at St. Isidore the Farmer Church, Tisch Mills; at St. Joseph-St. John, Pilsen; at St. Hedwig, East Krok and at St. Lawrence, Stangelville. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Christal, four children, Christopher (Jean) Wavrunek, Zander; Samuel (Scott) Wavrunek, Mishicot; Zachary (Beth) Wavrunek, Green Bay; Jessica (Thomas) Lambert, Cooperstown; six siblings, Daniel (Debra) Wavrunek, Kewaunee; David Wavrunek, Luxemburg; James (Josy) Wavrunek, Denmark; Jean Wavrunek, Luxemburg; Janet (friend Noah) Spitzer, Jackson; Mary (Tom) Swagel, Kewaunee; Catherine Wavrunek, Green Bay; one brother in law Scott Yanda, Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Seth, Aaron, Zoey, Ivy, Blake, Alexis, Remington, Gracyn; his father in law and mother in law, Robert "Bob" and Lucille "Lucy" Yanda, Tish Mills. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Dorothy Wavrunek; one brother Joseph Wavrunek. Friends may call 3:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site, E860 Hwy 29 in Pilsen. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm, Thursday, led by his good friend and mentor, Rev. Dennis Drury. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 13th, 2017, 9:30 to 10:45 am at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site, Pilsen. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Dennis Drury officiating, assisted by Deacon Robert Miller. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pilsen.
