Hilda M. (Gruetzmacher) Fager Hilda M. (Gruetzmacher) Fager, 88, Luxemburg, died Monday afternoon, January 16,2017 at Bornemann Nursing Home, Green Bay. She was born to the late William F. and Anna A (Dahlke) Gruetzmacher on July 5, 1928 in the town of Montpelier. On June 21, 1947 she married Leonard Fager at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2008. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Montpelier for 40 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a long time member of the Ralph Kline American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262 in Luxemburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking for her family, planting flowers and working in her garden. Special times were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter and one son, LaVonne (Tom) Stodola, Cottage Grove; and Lon (Terri) Fager, Luxemburg; 5 grandchildren, Renee Stodola (Tim), Michelle Stodola (Chad), Ryan (Katie) Stodola, all of Cottage Grove; Bryan (Anthony) Green Bay; Darren (Elisha) Fager, Luxemburg; 8 great grandchildren Caleb, Brynn, Lucy, Ellie, Zoe, Henry, Nolan and Miles; one sister-in-law Melva Fager, Luxemburg; many nieces, nephews and friends. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, brothers and sisters-in-law Ottmar and Anita Gruetzmacher and Elroy and Ruth Gruetzmacher. 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law, Milton Fager and Arno and Gertrude Doell; her father in law and mother in law, William and Adela Fager. Ralph Kline American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262 memorial service 5:30 pm with a parish prayer service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue between 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier.
