Harold J. Collin Harold J. Collin, 85 of Dyckesville died Thursday afternoon, June 29, 2017. He was born April 30, 1932 in Dyckesville to Norris & Jennie (Gilson) Collin. At the age of five he witnessed his fathers untimely death, later his mother married Steven Martin and the family lived in Namur. He married Elaine L. Everard on June 27, 1951. They just celebrated 66 wonderful years together. He began his career as a Cheesemaker’s helper in Namur & Bayveiw. He then became the Head Cheesemaker in Tonet, Lincoln & Cecil cheese factory’s. He was very proud when he received the award for 1st place for the State Cheddar Cheese contest and 7th place in the World for his famous cheddar cheese. He then went into real estate for many years with United Farm Agency & Deterville Reality. During his retirement he enjoyed delivering lost luggage for Austin Straubel Airport & helped his wife in their Collins Dynamic Carpet Cleaning business for 36 years. One of his most remembered hobbies were when he raised chinchilla’s for breeding, showing and had won many ribbons. He is survived by his wife Elaine & their 7 children: Jill (Ken) Jeanquart; Don; Diane (Greg) Dorner; Dave; Janet (Randy) Lemens; Mike (Vicky); Chris (Shelly); 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); sisters and brothers, Bernice Krohn; Judy Heuer; Alvin (Dorothy) Martin; Jim (Diane) Martin; sisters in law, Lorraine (Erwin) LaLuzerne; Arlene Derenne; one aunt, Doris Reince. Harold was preceded in death by his father, mother & stepfather, Norris Collin; Jennie and Steven Martin; brother, Carl (Ardella) Collin; brothers-in-law David Heuer, Clarence Krohn & Richard Derenne; his father in law and mother in law, Orbie and Jennie Everard. Friends may call 3:30 to 7:00 pm at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville on Sunday, July 02, 2017. Closing parish prayer service at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:10 am at the church on Monday, July 03, 2017. Funeral 10:30 am, Monday with Rev. Dean Dombroski and Pastoral Leader Pat Ratajczak officiating.
