Marilyn G. DeGrand Marilyn Grace DeGrand, 68, Luxemburg, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 15, 2017. She was born April 23, 1949, to Norbert and Marian (Kust) Dorner. She graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1967. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Daniel W. DeGrand at St. Mary’s Church in Luxemburg on October 28, 1967, and together they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this October. She continued on to Cosmetology school in Green Bay and was a hair stylist for many years. Marilyn proudly raised three children, Deneen, Jody and Todd. Throughout her years, she also worked transporting special education students to Syble Hopp, a cook at the Luxemburg-Casco School District, bartending at the Rendezvous and worked at Subway. She was a devoted displayer/consultant for Home Interiors and Gifts for 39 years. Her talents were spread through many homes by her creativity through her Home Interiors and Gifts career. Marilyn enjoyed working in her gardens, spending time with family, attending her grandchildren’s school and sport events, playing cards, and going Up North to her family cabin. As an avid Brewer fan, Marilyn rarely missed watching a game. In recent years, Marilyn revived her passion for art by taking painting classes from a special friend, Jeanne Trumble. She is survived by her husband, Daniel; children, Jody (Darrell) Duckart and Todd (Kelley) DeGrand and son-in-law Kevin Schweiner (special friend, Heidi); her grandchildren, Travis and Brittany (Delain) Minger, Ashley Minger, Morgan and Brennan Schweiner, Owen and Ellah DeGrand; brothers, Dale (Elaine) Dorner, Mark (Cheryl) Dorner, Gregory (Diane) Dorner, Douglas (Cyndi) Dorner, Kevin (Diana) Dorner, Patrick (Carrie) Dorner; sisters Kathy DeGrave, Kristen (Mark) Allen, Cheryl (Terry) Nienhaus, Dawn (Brian) Rabas, Lisa (Gerry) Spude (godchild), and Amy (Joe) Peters; sister-in-law Mary Dorner; Brothers-in-law Larry DeGrand, Ron (Debbie) DeGrand, and Mark (special friend, Teri) DeGrand; Sister-in-law Jeanne Conard; numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her infant son, Daniel DeGrand Jr. and daughter, Deneen Schweiner; her parents Norbert and Marian (Kust) Dorner; brother, David Dorner, brother-in-law Ken DeGrave; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Irma (Rentmeester) DeGrand, brothers-in-law Darold (Pam) DeGrand and Steve Conard. Godparents Milos and Grace (Kust) Ledvina. Additional appreciation is given to the amazing and compassionate 9th floor nurses who cared for Marilyn. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5930 Humboldt Road, Luxemburg. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church between 8:30 and 10:15 am. Funeral at 10:30 am on Saturday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating.
