Mary Ann Stodola

Mary Ann Stodola Mary Ann (Worachek) Stodola, 94, Pilsen passed away on Tuesday morning, September 19, 2017 after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was born in Zander, WI on July 1, 1923 to the late Jack and Emma (Yanda) Worachek. Mary Ann graduated valedictorian from Luxemburg Union High School in 1941. Early in her career she worked for Bertrands Sporting Goods Store in Green Bay. On July 6, 1946 she married George T. Stodola at Holy Cross, Mishicot. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2015. Together they farmed in the Pilsen area their entire lives. They celebrated 69 years of marriage together. She was a member of St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site, Pilsen. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Mary Ann enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel with her family, play Sheepshead, polka music, spend time at the family cabin, and watch the Green Bay Packers. She was a great baker, making many loaves of bread for her big family and lots of desserts. Survivors include her children: Barbara Stodola, Bellevue; George F (Darlene) Stodola, Green Bay; Margaret (Robert) Larsen, Algoma; Emily (Peter) Pritchard, Chippewa Falls; Carole (Phil) Schwartz, Oshkosh; Jerome (LouAnn) Stodola, Manitowoc; Nancy (Pat) Brocker, Maribel; John Stodola, Luxemburg; daughters in law Angie Stodola, Green Bay, Mary Stodola, Kaukauna. 16 grandchildren: Regina (John) Siegel, Nathan (Julie) Larsen, Kirsten (Christian) Comlossy, Chad Larsen, Dillon (Susan) Pritchard, Ryan (Karen) Pritchard, Hannah (Justin) Weissbecker, Joe (Deb) Stodola, Jennifer (Andy) Waack, Vicki (Joe) Micke, Kathy (Joe) Morrow, Kim (special friend Adam) Stodola, Sara Stodola, Eric Stodola, P.J. (Ashley) Brocker, Breanne Brocker. 14 great-grandchildren; one sister Anna Mae Dorner, Luxemburg; one sister in law Virginia (Wertel) Metzler, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons James and Edward Stodola; one grandson Bryan Stodola; one brother Lester Worachek; brothers and sisters in law Roman Dorner, Frank (Anna) Stodola, Richard (Madeline) Stodola, Wencil (Dolores) Stodola, Phil Wertel, Henry Metzler. Friends may call at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site, Pilsen between 9:00 and 10:45AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM on Saturday at the church with Rev.
