Ronald J. Benz Ronald J. Benz, 86 of Luxemburg, died Wednesday afternoon, December 20, 2017. He was born in Luxemburg on April 17, 1931 to the late Joseph and Anna (Velicer) Benz. On May 20, 1967 he married Phyllis M. Garot at Annunciation Church in Green Bay. Ron served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He began is career at Spence McCord Drug Company, later taking over the family farm in 1961 until his retirement in 1995. His enjoyments included playing cards, following the Brewers and Packers, visits to the Casino and spending time with this family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Church in Luxemburg and served as Trustee for the church in the past. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Phyllis, and their three children, Janet (Stephen) DeGroot, Madison; Nancy (Norman) Pawelczyk, DePere; Richard (Naomi) Benz, Appleton; six grandchildren, Nicholas Pawelczyk, Anna, Aaron, John, Maria and Claire Benz; one sister and two brothers in law, Rita and Al Mathu, Pembine; Bernard Jossart, Green Bay; one sister in law, Marjorie Schuldes, DePere; nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Audrey Benz and Jean Jossart; one brother in law, Kenneth Schuldes. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg on Saturday, December 23, 2017, between 9:00 and 10:30 am. Funeral 11:00 am on Saturday with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg. Full military rites at graveside provided by the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg.
