Thomas A Roach

THOMAS ADRIAN ROACH Thomas Adrian Roach, 86, born March 25, 1931 to Adrian and Ethel (McCulloch) Roach in Rahway, New Jersey, went quietly Home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on January 31, 2018. Tom grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, lived through the day of infamy, graduated high school and attended one year at University of Hawaii. In 1950, his family returned to New Jersey where he completed his mechanical engineering degree at Newark College of Engineering. Subsequently, Tom worked for New Jersey Public Service Electric and Gas Company from 1953-1967. During this time, he met the love of his life and married Leah M. Todt on December 19, 1953 and produced six children. Summer vacations were spent in Nova Scotia to assist in a children's evangelistic ministry known as the Gospel Tent. By 1967, Tom felt led by God to move their family to Nova Scotia to continue working in full-time ministry. For the next 43 years, with Leah at his side, Tom labored faithfully, serving the Lord, preaching all over the United States and Canada as well as in many foreign countries. The last 7 years of Tom's life were spent in Wisconsin; first living with his daughter and son-in-law, Dan, and finally at Oak Creek Assisted Living - Luxemburg. Tom is survived by Leah, his wife of 64 years; six children: Henry (Jill) Roach, Ashville, NC; Elaine (Herb) Nickerson, Halifax, Nova Scotia; Susan (Dan) Doran, Casco, WI; Eunice (Foo Wing) Chin, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; Timothy (Elaine) Roach, Casnovia, MI; and Mark (Peter) Roach-Romeo, Calgary, Alberta; 19 grandchildren: Nathan Roach, ME; Heidi (Danny) Allan, MA; Jennifer (Jason) Johnson, IA; Paula (Daniel) Voicu, Romania; Philip (Kim) Nickerson, Nova Scotia; Joel (Nicole) Nickerson, Nova Scotia; Anna (Viorel) Vasile, Nova Scotia; Beth (Alan) McGillivary, Nova Scotia; Faith Mayienda, Nova Scotia; Brendan (special friend Stephanie) Doran, WI; Jonathan (Brittany) Doran, WI; Brianna (Luke) Wilkerson, IA; Gregory, Benedict and Sidney Chin, Malaysia; Alison (William) Hayhoe, Newfoundland; Kyle Roach, MI; Meg and Will Roach-Romeo, Alberta; 24 great-grandchildren: Jake, Isaac, Elizabeth, Anna, James and Caleb Allan, MA; Kathryn, Michael, William and Matthew Johnson, IA; Joanna, Joseph, Priscilla and Philip Voicu, Romania; Lucy and Edmund Nickerson, Nova Scotia; Olivia Nickerson, Nova Scotia; David Vasile, Nova Scotia; Levi Mayienda, Nova Scotia; Cormac Doran, WI; Riker and Roland Wilkerson, IA; Kira and Marie Hayhoe, NFLD; and 2 siblings, Bill (Carol) Roach, Saint John, New Brunswick; and Jessie (Dwight) Dods, Ottawa, Ontario. Predeceased by 2 granddaughters: Hannah Elizabeth Chin and Elizabeth Haidon Roach-Romeo. Thank-you to McMahon's Funeral Home for oversight of visitation Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 9 AM followed by funeral service at 11 AM with officiants Stan Allan and Bob Steiner at Country Bible Church, E2179 Highway 54, Casco, WI 54205 Many thanks to staff at N.E.W. Curative Connections-Journey Club (Luxemburg), especially Julie & Wendy; our hearts are full of gratitude for Marie Pinchart & her staff at Oak Creek Assisted Living (Luxemburg), who gave Dad extraordinary, loving care to the end; thank-you to Unity Hospice, especially RN Jenn and MSW Jenny for end-of-life care; and special thanks to Luxemburg Pharmacy for the immense support and flexibility during these past 7 years.
