Gary W. Hendricks Gary W. Hendricks, 51, of New Franken, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 18, 2018 due to a heart attack. Gary was born on November 24, 1966 to Joyce Hansen Hendricks and Jerome Hendricks. Gary attended Preble High School in Green Bay, WI. He married Ann Geitner on August 30, 1986 at St. Joseph’s Church in Sturgeon Bay, WI and they were married for 31 years. Gary held several jobs in the insurance and customer service fields. He was most proud of his military service in the Navy from 1986 - 1994. He served his country on the USS Coontz and USS L.Y. Spear where he earned the Navy Achievement medal, amongst others. He was stationed at the Naval Base in Norfolk, VA, at the Naval Training Center in Chicago, IL, and was deployed to the Persian Gulf during his service. Gary loved the Green Bay Packers, riding his ATV, bird watching, online gaming and social media, and living in the country on his 5 acres. He had a passion for animals and volunteered for the Golden Retriever rescue for many years. He loved spending time with his wife Ann and their own four Goldens at their home in New Franken. Gary loved vacationing with his wife in the Riviera Maya area in Mexico before his disabilities affected his ability to travel. He was a jokester, always trying to make his friends and loved ones laugh. He was a kind, caring, compassionate individual who always thought of others before himself. As part of his caring nature, Gary donated his organs upon his death to help others. Gary is survived by his wife Ann, brother-in-law James (Debra) Geitner, brother-in-law John (Debbie) Geitner, Uncle Brian Lindberg, Uncle James Jolin, nephews Jeff (Sheila) Geitner, Aaron Geitner, Justin (Chaunte) Geitner and niece Erin (Tim) Ross. He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce, father Jerome, Aunt Diane Lindberg, father-in-law Edwin Geitner, mother-in-law June Geitner, Aunt Helen Jolin, nephew Kevin Geitner and cousin Kenneth Kintopf. A private funeral service for the immediate family will be held on Tuesday at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME,LUXEMBURG, per Gary’s wishes. The service will be followed by full military rites with the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg. Memorials may be given in Gary’s name through McMahon Funeral Home, P.O Box 36, 530 Main Street, Luxemburg, Wi. 54217. www.mcmahonfh.com Gary’s family wishes to thank the staff at Aurora Baycare Emergency Room and the paramedics for the care provided and loving support to his family. We would also like to send sincere thanks to Dr. Erich Quidzinski and the staff at Aurora Clinic who attended to his medical issues throughout the past several years.
