Norman C Collins Norman C. Collins, 90, of Luxemburg, died Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born in Brown County to the late Charles and Mabel (Wery) Collins on December 15, 1927. He was united in marriage at Robinsonville Presbyterian Church with Carol Ropson on April 7, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2017. Together they ran a dairy farm in Tonet for many years, during which he also worked full time in construction. He enjoyed working in his garden and doing woodworking projects in his garage. His all time favorite thing though, had to be going out to eat, especially breakfast. Norman was a hard working, loving, husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Survivors include daughter, Sherry (Dennis) DeChamps and their children Eric (Christi) and Matt (Robin); daughter Sandy DeBaker and her children John (Sherry), Nick (Heidi), Sara (Jay) Shefchik, and Lydia (Steve) Blaha; son, Ken (Wendy) and their son Austin; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine (Ray) Soquet; three sisters in law, Rosella Ropson, Evelyn Ropson, Marie Collins; one brother in law and one sister in law, Roland (Carol) Ropson; nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by, one brother Tony Collins; one sister and one brother in law Joyce (Ronald) DeKeyser; two sisters in law and four brothers in law, Dorothy and Jerry Bodart; Ella and Emerson Vandenhouten; Gerald Ropson; Gaylord Ropson. Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018. Closing Funeral Service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor William Kamke officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Pam and the entire staff of Helping Hearts Assisted Living for their wonderful care, kindness and support they gave Norman during his time there. Our family wishes to thank Unity Hospice for their compassionate care of our Dad. Thank you to his friends and neighbors who visited him these past few years. These visits were greatly appreciated.
