On May 22, 2018, our Mother, Beverly A. (Willame) Lelou, Luxemburg, found peace in Heaven. Mom was born to Clarence and Lucille (Rogers) Willame on March 5, 1934. She grew up in a predominately Belgian community of Champion, WI. Our mother learned to speak English when she began school at 7. She had one sister, Annabelle (Williame) Vincent who was 11 years older than her. She grew up as a tomboy. Our grandma would tell us stories of our Mom riding the cows, chasing frogs and giving them lots of scares. Our Mom met our Dad at the Rendevous. She had just graduated high school. Dad and Mom were married on July 19, 1952 at St. Joseph Church in Champion. Mom and Dad worked and played hard. This was the theme for the remainder of their lives. Mom worked hard at home raising 4 children and worked a variety of jobs during her life. Most of work outside the home was with the elderly in a variety of nursing homes. She enjoyed working with all kinds of people. Mom’s most cherished job was driving school bus for the Luxemburg-Casco School District. She did this for 34 years. We heard many stories from our Mom and from former passengers on her bus. She could be tough, but the kids got to school and home safe. Our Mom’s oldest daughter, Dawn lives in Manitowoc. Dawn has 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her son Rick (Richard Jr.) lives in Algoma and has a special friend Lisa Labecki. Rick has a beautiful daughter Katy who is married to Bill Emmett. They have 2 wonderful children, Hailey and Ethan. They also reside in Manitowoc. Her daughter June lives in Bellevue with her husband Jeff Henrichs. The youngest in the family is Stacy who is married to Jim Glass. They reside in Green Bay. They have two beautiful daughters Taylor and Michaela. Mom was happy to be a Grandma. Mom and Dad had many pets they loved. The current king of the house is Buddy. Mom loved and worried about her Buddy. Our Mom is also survived by a nephew, Tom Vincent and cousins; sisters-in-law, Ione Massey, Joyce Liebeck, Carol Lelou and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucy Willame; her husband, Richard J. Lelou Sr.; sister, Ann (Willame)Vincent and brother-in-law Richard Vincent; son-in-law Gene Matte; brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Ronald and Leona Lelou, Rita and Elmer Salzsieder; Louise and Darwin Debaker; brother-in-law Marcian Lelou, Ardeal “Buddy” Liebeck and Willard Massey. Mom and Dad loved to work in the garden. (Mom and Dad had the best garden around). In summer you could often find our Mom resting on the patio after working in the garden, watering her giant geraniums and bossing Dad while he was picking berries. Many family and friends enjoyed the fruits of their labor. Mom loved to play also. Bingo at Oneida was a favorite for many years. She was so lucky. She would come home on a Friday night and wake Dad up with a wad of cash. She loved to play cards especially Cuyoo. Mom and Dad played in tournaments and leagues for many years. As a family we would often play “31”. It could get tense. Mom did not like losing! Family and friends come celebrate our Mom’s life with us on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG. Visitation is from 3 – 7 PM with a prayer service to follow. Pastor Chris Gilbert of Connection Church, Manitowoc will officiate. www.mcmahonfh.com The family sends a special thanks to Atrium Post-Acute Care of Kewaunee for their care of our Mom. We would also like to thank Dr. Mark Reidy for his wonderful care of our Mom and of us during her short time at Aurora Bay Care. Thank you also to Wally and Donna Ferrier and Kevin Metzler, for being the best neighbors to our parents. You were truly a blessing to our Mom and family. God bless you and Thank you!
