Carol J. Post

April 12, 1946 — January 27, 2024

Carol Jean Post, 77, Luxemburg, died following a brief illness on Saturday, January 27, 2024, with family at her side. She was born in Green Bay on April 12, 1946, to the late Robert E. & Elizabeth A. (Mier) Hoagland. After losing her parents as a teenager, Carol was fortunate to be raised by wonderful foster families including the Anderson’s and Schabow’s. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School, Green Bay, Algoma High School and was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. On March 29, 1969, Carol married Roger E. Post at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Carol would be the first to tell you that she was shy, yet her smile, quick wit, and enormous heart led to countless genuine, lifelong friendships being made in any new group she entered. Carol endured numerous physical challenges during her lifetime and battled each one with the stubborn resolve and strength many of us wish we had. Around the third hip replacement surgery, she joked that they were just going to put in a zipper to make the next one easier! She met the challenge of Parkinson’s by finding a community of “Parkies” online who gave her the support and resource she needed to bolster her strength in the face of a new challenge. While her physical strength deteriorated, her faith, compassion, and yes, sense of humor only increased. She loved to sew, crochet, quilt, embroider and participate in all craft projects. When Care Bears were hard to find, she made her own. When there were few Cabbage Patch Dolls in stores, she made her own. She happily shared these skills with others, patiently teaching several nieces and all four of her children. Carol’s greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. Her love for each of them is unparalleled and will surely only continue as her soul watches over us from Heaven. Survivors include her husband of nearly 55 years, Roger; one son, Paul (Kelley) Post; two daughters, Julie Uslabar, Jean (Randy) Pieschek. She is further survived by seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Brendon Post (special friend Kelsey), Jack Uslabar, Jacob, Alyssa, Sydney and Mason Pieschek and Rylie Post; siblings Ruth Ziegelbauer, Helen Schmechel, Clarence Hoagland, Gerald Hoagland (friend Barb), Larry (Mary) Hoagland, Marvin (Diana) Hoagland, Karen Gardner, Glen (Mary) Schabow; sisters in law and brothers in law Jeanette Zeitler, Arlene Gruetzmacher, Shirley (Sheldon) Prodell, Carol Nemecek, Rita Post, Donna Post; members of the Schabow and Anderson families; nieces, nephews, friends, further survive. Carol was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Jennifer Post; her parents; her mother in law and father-law Eleanora and Fred Post; brothers and sisters Robert Hoagland, James Hoagland, Betty Lou Hoagland, Mary Hoagland, Nathan Schabow, brother in law Garland Ziegelbauer; foster parents Pastor Alvin (Enid) Schabow; brothers in law and sisters-in-law: Norman Post, Robert Post, Roy Post, Harold Zeitler, Wayne Gruetzmacher, James Nemecek, Bernice and Wally Machut, Ellen Post; members of the Anderson and Schabow families.
