Carolyn R Jorgenson

Carolyn Ruth Jorgenson (Ullmann), 69, of Algoma, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 15th, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born September 25, 1951 to the late Elmer and Ruth (Dahlke) Ullmann. She was a 1969 graduate of Luxemburg High School. On May 25, 1974 Carolyn married Larry D. Jorgenson at St. John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg. They were married for 46 years. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Algoma Long Term Care Facility for 40 years. Carolyn was devoted to her faith. She was an organist, pianist at St. John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg and St. John Church in Rankin for many years. She played for church services, weddings and funerals. She served in many other capacities in the church. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, several church committees and volunteered with Ruby’s Pantry and was also involved with the annual children’s Christmas program. She shared her musical talents with so many playing the French horn for the Algoma Community Band for 37 years. She and Larry enjoyed various traveling excursions with the band throughout the years. Traveling to Europe and Ireland. Carolyn and Larry also enjoyed taking bus trips and especially trips to Miller Park to see the Brewers. Carolyn inherited her mother Ruth’s love for gardening and flowers. Her home was surrounded by beautiful flower beds and a large garden in the backyard. She loved to cook and bake. She served many home cooked meals for family members and friends on holidays and other special occasions. Carolyn also loved genealogy and spent many hours researching the family tree. Carolyn loved taking classes during retirement especially with her friend Sara. She took craft classes and attended local history lectures and even tried ukulele lessons. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren Clay and Carmen and sharing her passion of gardening with them. She enjoyed taking them on adventures to the family farm, zoo and parks. Her beloved grandchildren will have these memories to forever hold dear to their hearts. She was a friend to so many and cherished keeping connected with longtime friends especially the “Breakfast Club” girls. Carolyn was truly an angel on earth. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those she touched with kindness and a warm smile. Carolyn is survived by her husband Larry; two sons, Andy (Marcy) Jorgenson, Mike (Toni) Jorgenson, al of Algoma; three grandchildren, Bryant Ehlers, Clay Jorgenson and Carmen Jorgenson; her Siblings, Jane (Joe) Bester, MN; Mark Ullmann, Luxemburg; Dean (Darlene) Ullmann, Luxemburg; two nephews, Ben (Olivia Wypieszenski) Ullmann and Jake Ullmann all of Luxemburg, and many other close relatives and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruth Ullmann, brother Ron Ullmann, sister Sue Ullmann, her paternal grandparents, Otto and Ida Ullmann, maternal grandparents, Fred and Mathilda Dahlke. Due to Covid19 the funeral service will be private, with Rev. Carl Brewer officiating. The service will be livestreamed, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 11:00 am on St John’s Lutheran Church facebook page. Carolyn will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery, Luxemburg.
