Chris Bouche, age 74, Tonet, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 9, 2025. Chris was born on March 20, 1950, to the late Andrew and Beverly (Naze) Bouche. Chris graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1968, the first graduation class from L-C. On July 18, 1970, he married Marge Zima in Dyckesville. Chris and Marge were married for 45 years. Marge passed away on September 22, 2015. Chris served in the Army Reserve from 1970-1976.
Chris worked for Dale Englebert Masonry and Tom Malcore Masonry before starting his career with the Luxemburg Post Office in 1979. He became a full-time mail carrier in 1986 and retired in 2014. Chris always said working for the Post Office was better than working for a living. Chris was very active with Rural Carriers Union and served many years as committeeman and State Steward. Chris also served two terms as committeeman for the Village of Luxemburg. Chris and Marge enjoyed traveling to many State and National conventions. He enjoyed fishing with his buddy Jim Derenne. Chris was also an avid reader. Later in life Chris and Cindy traveled to many State and National Parks.
Chris is survived by his two children, Chad Bouche and Kristy Leach; his two grandchildren Carter and Megan; He is also survived by his girlfriend, Cindy Dart and her daughter, Tracy; eight siblings, Dan (Cheryl) Bouche, Ellen (Larry) LaCrosse, Francine Charles, Ginger Piontek (special friend Gale), Hal (Laurie) Bouche, Ian (Jackie) Bouche, Kevin (Stacy) Bouche, and Lance (Pamm) Bouche; he is further survived by three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kathy (Doug) Hoppe, Dennis (Kim) Zima, and David Zima; several nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by his dog 3Socks.
Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Marge; his parents; one brother, Jay; son, Robin; son-in-law Keith Leach; brother-in-law, Lee Charles; He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Florence Zima; and brother-in-law, John Fett.
A visitation will be held at St. Joseph Church, Champion, Thursday, January 16, 2025, 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm. Closing prayer service at 6:00 pm, with Molly Gallagher. Visitation will continue 9:00 am - 10:45 am, Friday, January 17, 2025, at the church. Funeral 11:00 am on Friday with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Burial in St. Martin Cemetery, Tonet.
