Cyril “Cy” F. Le Captain, 87, Forestville, died Friday morning, February 19, 2021. He was born in Rosiere on October 8, 1933 to the late William and Marion M. (LaLuzerne) Le Captain. On July 25, 1953 he married Celia S. Jonet at St. Martin Church, Tonet. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2011. Cy was employed with Algoma Hardwoods for fifty years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church in Rosiere, the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. His enjoyments included hunting, fishing, dancing, going out to eat, family gatherings and frequent visits to the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion. Survivors include eleven children, Christine Schultz, Susan (Galen) De Jardin, Debbie (Keith) Griese, Patricia Derenne, William Le Captain, Judy (Bernie) Groeschel, Ken Le Captain, Sharon (Timothy) Wessel, Daniel (Crystal) Le Captain, Vicki (Rob) Jeanquart, Shelly (Mike) Nelson, James Janquart; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Julius (Pat) Le Captain, Cletus (Judy) Le Captain; one sister, Pat LeCloux; nieces and nephews. Cy was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Janquart; three grandchildren, Jerimiah, Jason and Laura; one son in law, Darrell Schultz; two brothers, Orville Le Captain and Andrew Le Captain; two sisters, infant sister Theresa Le Captain, Shirley (Norman) Paye; one brother in law, James LeCloux; sisters in law and brothers in law, Betty (Alois) Seidl, Clara (Elmer) Balza, Martha (Harry) Annoye, Lorraine (Lionel) Ruben, Barbara (Francis) Jandrin, Pete (Lucy) Jonet, Marie (Lee) Rollin. Friends may call 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm on Tuesday with Deacon Ray Ambrosius. Visitation will continue between 9:00 am and 10:45 am on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Hubert Church, Rosiere. Funeral 11:00 am Wednesday at the church with Rev. Edward Looney officiating.
