Dale "Puppy" Reckelberg, 71, Luxemburg, quietly passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a long battle with ALS.
Dale was born on March 5, 1954, to Dolores (Prahl) and the late William Reckelberg. On April 27, 1974, he married Judith A. Jandrain at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. They enjoyed 30 years of marriage until her passing on April 3, 2005.
Dale worked at the Kewaunee County Highway Department just shy of 35 years and formed many strong friendships with his co-workers. He enjoyed many years of working on racecars. He also spent time helping Judy deliver flowers and other odd jobs while they owned the flower shop.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman who treasured his time hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling at the Rendezvous in both men's and couple's leagues. When his children and grandchildren began participating in sports, Dale could often be found cheering and coaching from the sidelines. He was very proud of their athletic accomplishments.
For the last 17 years, Dale enjoyed spending time with his loving friend Jan. They made many memories traveling to sporting events, driving to Door County, and watching Dale's favorite teams.
Dale lived his life well and will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
Dale is survived by his special friend Jan Smithwick; one son, Joe (Renee) Reckelberg; two daughters, Sarah (Travis) Kloetzke, Beth (Nate) Budnik; six grandchildren, Adeline Reckelberg, Abigail, Evelyn, and Isla Kloetzke, and Mason and Lily Budnik; his mother Dolores Reckelberg; brothers, David (Sandy) Reckelberg, Allan (Brenda) Reckelberg, Greg (Susie) Reckelberg; sisters, Barbara Reckelberg, Beverly Duescher, Bonnie (Wayne) Salzsieder, Suzanne (Mark) Raduenz; mother-in-law, Donna Jandrain; brothers-in-law, Dale (Pat) Jandrain, Bob (Mikki) Jandrain; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo (Ralph) Ball, Nancy (Ron) Desotell, Debby (Tim) Liebeck; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Jandrain) Reckelberg; father, William Reckelberg; father-in-law, Bob Jandrain; and brother-in-law, Glenn Duescher.
