Luxemburg

Daniel "Dan" E. Arendt. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Edmund Arendt, 75, on November 23, 2024. Born on November 18, 1949, Daniel lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. A proud graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1968, Daniel enjoyed his time wrestling and playing football.

On April 20, 1974, he married Barbara J. Vandenhouten, marking the beginning of a steadfast partnership. Together, they built a family and shared numerous memorable moments.

Dan was a laborer in the construction industry, dedicating most of his life to Selmer Construction. As a dedicated and hard working construction laborer and a proud member of the labor union for 50 years, he also enjoyed doing concrete side jobs with his closest friends.

Dan enjoyed time spent bowling, enjoyed working outdoors, socializing with friends, and playing volleyball and slow pitch softball. His zest for life was evident in all he did.

Dan cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren-Dominic, Sydney, and Tabitha Lemens. He found immense joy in babysitting them, taking them to parades, and ensuring that their days were filled with laughter and wonder. His grandchildren were the light of his life and the center of his universe, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to nurturing their happiness and growth. Dan's role as their grandfather was one, he treasured deeply.

He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Arendt, his parents Gertrude and Daniel P. Arendt, and his brother Richard Arendt.

Dan leaves behind a loving family: his daughter and son-in-law Becky and Jim Lemens, Luxemburg; and his cherished grandchildren Dominic, Sydney, and Tabitha Lemens. He is also survived by his siblings Thomas (Joan) Arendt, Algoma; and Jean Dalton, Green Bay; as well as his nephews Jimmy (Cindy) Dalton and Jason (Nikole) Dalton; and the mother of his children, Barbara.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. Special gratitude goes to Marissa, a very special nurse, and Heather, the amazing PA, for their empathy, care, understanding, and ensuring Dan's comfort.
