Darlene C. Kinnard, 94, New Franken passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024. She was born on August 30, 1930, in the Town of Brussels to the late Benjamin and Lena (Delfosse) Lardinois. Darlene graduated from Brussels High School. In her younger years she enjoyed attending dances where she met her husband, Vincent. They fell in love and married on April 27, 1954. Together Vincent and Darlene bought a farm in New Franken, where they resided until they built their retirement home in 1994. Darlene enjoyed gardening, music, and dancing. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her three girls, as well as a grandmother to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darlene always displayed compassion towards others and was willing to help anyone in need, especially as a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 70 years Vincent; three daughters; Lea Ann (Allen Valek) Kinnard, Prior Lake, MN; Diane Falish, Patti (Mike) VanLanen, all of New Franken; five grandchildren Peter Falish, Fred (April) Falish, Jennifer Falish, Jeremy (Beth) Falish, Amber VanLanen, ten great grandchildren, Marissa, Abby, Jacob, Lucas, Cynthia, Evan, Claudia, Aubrey, Destiny, Sonia; brothers in-law Marvin Kinnard, Casco; Allen (Dottie) Kinnard, Humboldt; sisters in-law Monica VandenHouten, Allouez, and Sharon Kinnard, Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by parents; three brothers, James (Rita) Lardinois, Milton (LaVerne) Lardinois, and Bernard (Joanie) Lardinois; three sisters, Ethel (Emil) Bosdeck, Lucille (Donald) Wery, Maxine (John) Stegmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Lucy Kinnard; brothers-in-law Norbert (Doris) Kinnard, Mark Kinnard, Kilton VandenHouten, Donna Kinnard; son-in-law Milton Falish; grandson Scott Besaw; great grandson Branden Falish-Haufe.
Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Bay Settlement, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 9:30 am-11:15 am with Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 am with Abbot Gary Neville O. Praem. officiating. Entombment to follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. McMahon Funeral Home has been assisting the family. Online condolences can be made at McMahonFH.com.
