David Allen Dworak, 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from multiple health complications. He was born on April 28, 1960, to the late Lee A. and Joan Ann (Van Den Plas) Dworak. On October 21, 1989, he married Brenda A. Velicer in Green Bay. After graduating from Denmark High School in 1978, he went on to earn a degree and work as an automotive mechanic to which he put to use flipping many vehicles that are still running today. David was employed with the United States Postal Service until health concerns led to his early retirement in 2020. Growing up on the farm in Denmark, David enjoyed riding every machine possible from mud running with his three-wheeler as a kid to enjoying his older years settling down in his UTV. He continued his love of farming by helping his godson, Joe, driving tractors and hauling loads. He had a passion for fishing and spent many summers in Little Sturgeon with his “cottage family”. There was never a time a little one wasn’t on his lap if they were on the pontoon, taking lessons from the true ‘Captain Dave’. Returning to shore, he always had “at least 10” in the box. A proud grandpa and great-uncle, the young-ins in his life always put a smile on his face. David is leaving behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Brenda, and two sons, Brian (Tracy), and Matthew as well as his grandchildren, Joanna and Jeremiah. He will be greatly missed by them and other family & friends including his “little sister”, Patti (Kevin) Mercier and their children, Dr. Phill (Dr. Chrissy) Mercier with great-niece, Eliza, Godson Joe (Alycia) Mercier with great-nephews, Blake and Bennett, Kayla (Adam) Mohnen with great-niece, Madison, and Brad Mercier; two brothers, Jon (Lynda) Dworak with their children, Godson Dalten (fiancée Paige) Dworak, Danielle Dworak (friend Charles), and Dustin Dworak (friend Sophia); and Keith Dworak (Mary); his Godmother, Nancy Heurkens and her daughter Cheryl Davister and his Godfather Robert (Judy) Van Den Plas; mother-in-law, Janet Velicer (Merlin), brother-in-law, Jason (Jill) Velicer and their children, Nicholas, Celia, Aaron, Micah, Jordan and Christian; and sisters-in-law, Lori (Jeff) Grabarkowitz and their children Kaylee and Andrew, and Julie Baudhuin and her daughter Heather (Sawyer) Grinsteiner; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
