Diane M. Jonet

May 20, 1947 — January 3, 2023

Diane M. Jonet,75, of Champion, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Aurora Hospital. She was born in Luxemburg, WI on May 20, 1947, to the late Andrew H. and Irene A. (Van Lieshout) Alsteen. She was raised on the family farm in Luxemburg, WI and graduated with the Luxemburg class of 1965. She married Gary L. Jonet on June 4, 1966, at St Martin Church in Tonet, WI. They went on to create a beautiful family who will love and cherish her forever. Diane meant the world to a lot of people, and excelled at many things, but she was most of all a nurturer - as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild which made her exceptionally proud. She was beautiful inside and out, a generous soul who attracted others to her with her positive and loving spirit. Diane retired from the Bank of Luxemburg in 2010. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Gary to many of their favorite locations throughout the US. Their most cherished stops were in Florida to visit their daughter Cheryl and family. In addition to traveling, Diane enjoyed summer vacations with family and friends up north, watching her grandchildren in their sporting events, singing in the church choir, cooking, baking, gardening and playing cards into the wee hours of the morning with anyone who would entertain the idea. She lovingly created a beautiful home in Champion with her husband Gary. Their yard is surrounded by a huge garden and plentiful fruit trees which allowed her to enjoy a few glasses of their homemade wine. She is survived by her best friend and husband Gary; her adoring children, Kevin (Lisa) Jonet, Cheryl (Arnie) Effa, Eric Jonet, Andrew Jonet; her loving grandchildren, Miranda, Alyssa (Isaac), Darian (special friend Hana), Alec (special friend Paige), Sierra (special friend Brockston) and Nathan; her great-grandchild Mylah; her siblings, Betty Jane Michiels, Bev Zellner, Edward (Peggy) Alsteen, Ronald (Tina) Alsteen, Marlene (Jerry) Treml; sisters in law, Donna (Joe) Linssen, Carol (special friend Vern) Wojcik. She is adored by many other beloved family members and precious friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Alsteen; brothers-in-law Donald Michiels, Ronald Zellner, Randy Jonet; her godchild and nephew Jesse Wojcik and special godchild and nephew Andrew Alsteen. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5996 County Road K, New Franken, WI on Sunday January 8th, 2023, from 1:00-4:30 pm. A parish prayer service will be held at 4:30pm to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue 9:00-10:45 am Monday, January 9th, 2023, at the church.
